Turkey supplies drones to Ukraine and holiday destination to Russia.

The Russian girl at 1:23 reminds me of this quote; "The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them" - George Orwell

I’m currently stayed in a hostel in Bali with a Russian roommate. Just 2 days ago a new roommate joined us, and he’s Ukrainian. And oh boy it’s the most awkward situation I’ve ever experienced when they met each other for the first time. But fortunately now they’re chilling each other since the Russian guy is actually anti-Putin and opposing the war. The Ukrainian guy seems understand him, and now they’re good for now.

I teach Ukrainian and Russian students in the same class. I thought there would be problems, but there aren't. Many of the Ukrainians speak Russian or have Russian parents, and none of the Russians support the war.

During ww2 my dad was british merchant navy, and in south America you had neutral ports and they had bars full of german crews mainly submarine crews and british crews and they couldn't fight each other in a neutral port . And my dad used to say they would buy rounds of drinks for each other and smile because the bars were very close and both sides watched each other in case they left port . And out of port they would be trying to kill each other . its a funny world

I can't imagine how she feels. I hope she has good people around her to help. The fact that she's going to the beach each day is a good start.

Does the Ukranian media think Russians being happy is a sin? That’s just silly to me how a human expressing joy gets pulverized.

They're not "two warring party's".
They are one Country invading another and that Country is defending itself.
Big difference.

She fled to a country that doesn’t impose sanctions to Russians, a country that welcomes and wishes for more russian tourists in summer and then she complains about the Russians around her on the beach. I really can’t understand DW ‘s point 🤔

Painful experience to what ? So now you’re saying Russian people can’t go on vacation or smth ? Because from what I know Americans have had genocides in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia and Vietnam, so for her logic they shouldn’t go on vacation too then .

Cry me a river ffs!
I am Russian living in London and work on a building site as a carpenter and met so many Ukrainian people here and probably 80% of them have no problem with me or hate as I am only a builder and got nothing to do with the war.

I had a friend who worked as a bouncer at a club in Munich during the civil war in Yugoslavia. He said it was pretty scary sometimes because there were plenty of Croats/Serbs/Bosnians who lived and worked in Munich, but since it was so close, would periodically return to their respective communities in Yugoslavia to take part in the fighting, sometimes just over a weekend. Then they'd come back to Munich and go to work. So basically as a bouncer you had to deal with sometimes drunk angry people who were used to fighting and killing on a daily basis, add to that that they could go to a club and see members of the group they were fighting back in Yugoslavia - it was a bit of tinderbox to say the least.

she should be more uncomfortable with the clothes she wears on the beach and not with the Russians surrounding her

I think it’s almost pointless to interview Russian tourists, because if they speak against what Putin is doing they’ll be arrested when they return home

I have coworkers from both these countries and even though politics is banned in workplace you can still feel the tension there our Boss is smart that he puts them in different shifts as possible

I'm Bosnian and I regularly go to Turkey on my summer holiday, but now it seems all beaches are overcrowded with Russians and Ukrainians 🙄
