Bro, making a series on fitness focused Asian dishes would be awesome! I’ve been itching to get more things at the Asian market without having to shy away from most products due to trying to stay calorie conscious. But I’m absolutely trying this and adding it to a whole new playlist for Asian meals!

Written recipe w/ metric conversions. Also modified a bit using ground meat as a substitute for the canned tuna.

Ingredients (1-2 servings)
20 g dried wakame/Korean seaweed, soaked
1.8 L water (from soaking seaweed)
1 tbsp (15 g) fish sauce
Large can of tuna
SUBSTITUTE: 200 g lean ground beef or pork
Salt OR soup soy sauce, to taste
1 cup (90 g) oats

Directions
Soak seaweed in ~1.8 L water for 30 mins, then drain and keep the water.
Depending on your protein:
If using canned tuna – saute seaweed w/out oil, then add fish sauce and tuna.
If using beef/pork – saute w/ ~2 tbsp sesame oil, then add seaweed and fish sauce. Omit oil after.
Mix, add ~1 tbsp sesame oil, and 1.8 L wakame water.
Season w/ salt and/or soup soy sauce to taste.
Add oats and cook until tender [NTD -- test time].

Congee is also a great similar meal! Just a small amount of rice to make a large portion. I always add things like rotisserie chicken, veggies, and use chicken stock.

I love savory oatmeal. When I bring home leftover Thai, I put it over oatmeal

I love savory oats but I don’t like quick cooked oats. I prefer the texture of steel cut.

This is what I love about fitness. You can cheat your calories so that you eat what you want, are satisfied and still gain or lose weight effectively.
