Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

"It's in the transcript" really cracked me up, Jimmy making sure she knows there's physical evidence for what he's telling her.

The best part is that he's not entirely faking it. Like Peter Gould always says, "Jimmy uses honest emotions in dishonest ways."

This is the moment Chuck's premiums went up by 150%.

I thought it was a legit breakdown, until he said, "it's in the transcripts." Slipping JImmy got me too.

"It's in the transcripts" has to be the best line from this scene

A conman with a law degree is almost as dangerous as a chemistry teacher making methamphetamine

This actress nailed the empty, cold & worthless corporate insurance/HR rep perfectly. We've all dealt with someone who "wishes they could help" while knowing they plan to screw you.

The best part of this was that Jimmy had 100% confidence that, even during his appeal to empathy, the insurance rep couldn't resist using any information to gouge a client

The real irony is that Jimmy is the most honest person in this scene.

Impressive, very nice. Let's see Chuck's new insurance premiums.

Something interesting here is that the final blow to Chuck was actually not something slipping-jimmy-esque, but something very chuck-esque. Chuck was fine with being manipulative and sabatoging Jimmy and he considered it morally okay as long as he wasn't breaking the law. Jimmy on the other hand typically has strong morals but bends the law to get his way. In this scene he didn't do anything illegal; he simply told someone the truth in a manipulative way in order to do something nasty to chuck. This is similar to the way chuck is perpetually lawfully sabatoging Jimmy.

SHE actually got me. A calm, empathetic listening ear . . . until something that could affect the premium came up . . .

Damn that's some good acting from Bob. An actor, pretending to be someone who is pretending to be upset, and playing it just the right amount.

i'm not gonna lie i was straight up tearing up when jimmy got all sad but then he said chuck switched up the numbers and i was like "BROO DID I JUST GET SLIPPIN' JIMMYED???"

I think this actress really worked for an insurance agency sometime in her life.
Had the lines, emotion, and calm ambiguity we would expect trying to get a claim filed.

I almost thought he was actually breaking down. Then he let slip Chuck's condition. And then the expression on his face at the end. Holy shit, Jimmy really got me.

This series is the definition of “there are no small roles, just small actors.” The insurance lady, despite only being in one scene, gave an absolutely unforgettable performance. I hope that she and all the other supporting actors received all kinds of opportunities after working on this show.

This scene shows us how insurance companies work. They try to get the maximum information about you to limit the risk as much as possible.

Jimmy McGill just rolls constant nat 20s for charisma.
