Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Chuck develops this "electricity sensitivity" psychological disorder after divorce. Jimmy turns into full-time Saul Goodman after divorce. These brothers have the worst break up coping mechanisms.

Chuck is okay with deception as long as he's the architect.

Jimmy was kind of on the edge about everything but his love for his brother. Which is why it ultimately broke him. He unconditionally loved him and went out of his way for Chuck constantly

They don't come out and say exactly why they divorced, but this scene makes it clear that Chuck is unable to be honest to Rebecca about his problems, so he shuts her out and reacts in ways that seem completely bizarre to her. Jimmy really tried to show him that he could choose to be better, but Chuck couldn't let go of his fucked up pride.

Jimmy was a pretty amazing brother in these scenes

You gotta love how adamantly against dishonesty Chuck is, except when it benefits him like here or entrapping Jimmy into committing a felony

It's hilarious how oblivious Rebecca is. Jimmy is literally screaming her name in a panic in her ear, and she just holds her finger out at him. And Chuck is flailing around in front of her at his sink.

Subtle detail but when Rebecca says she can’t believe Jimmy is a lawyer and how responsible he is, Chuck only agreed he can’t believe he’s a lawyer either and then he’s got his own thing running. This points to that final conversation between Chuck and jimmy

Jimmy was the only guy on this earth who really understood and loves Chuck

Couldn't Chuck just excused himself to the bathroom while Rebecca was on the phone?

"It's incredibly bad manners to answer the phone in company." Boy would he love today's society lol.

At 2:07 it's so clear that Jimmy is so happy seeing Chuck happy. Unfortunately Chuck was rarely happy seeing Jimmy happy.

"Excuse me." (leaves room, presumably to restroom)

Chuck is supposed to be insanely intelligent and yet he somehow can't think of this lol

It made me laugh when Rebecca followed them into the kitchen

You know it's hard when you love someone that should love you back and they don't. Siblings are the worst. They know your strength's and weaknesses. They know what cuts you. Jimmy only did what he knew how to do to make Chuck proud of him. All Chuck ever did was push him back down. An angry brother over parents that loved Jimmy more than Chuck. There was no love or respect of Jimmy just a tolerance. In the end it ultimately left Jimmy dead inside. We ended up with Saul Goodman, but Jimmy died with Chuck.
