Why Pop OS Is PERFECT For Linux Gaming

New to Linux? Pop OS is the easiest path to gaming joy. This video shows you how fast + simple it is to install Steam, Wine, Lutris and GameHub. And nope, not all Ubuntu-based Linux distributions are created equal. That's exactly why I'm following up my elementary OS gaming video with this one!

In the beginning, everyone complained that Pop!_OS was just a re-skin of Ubuntu... but with every release, they prove more and more why Pop!_OS is an incredible distro on it's own! And, as always, keep up the incredible work Jason!

Just switched my local PC over to PopOs. Love how far they have come. Tried it a long time ago, where it was a bit buggy and didn't make the switch. But I am doing so now :)

I recently switched from kubuntu to pop os with the budgie DE and I find it so much more stable for gaming. I previously didn't care for budgie because the Mac like look, but with some tweaking I made it a lot more to my taste

In addition to this video I've seen amazing results with an app called gamemode from synaptic package manager. Has increased fps a lot. Just have to put the command in each steam game. Awesome video, thanks

Pop os is truly the best os for anything. I got a new ASUS ROG laptop and tried installing everything from Kali and Parrot(I am a cyber security student so kinda need em)to MX and in the end Pop OS. After 3 days of trying everything and using several forums I was truly surprised to see Pop work right out of the box. GPU too. I now use other distorts in VirtualBox and have a bunch of coding and brute forcing tools on pop os to use the GPU power.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but I always install ProtonFixes alongside Proton. It helps me run Final Fantasy IX without having to do any manual tweaks beyond the install of ProtonFixes and the import code added to the python file, explained in the documentation. It hasn't conflicted with anything that runs on Proton out of the box either.

Pop!_OS Nvidia image also automatically configures your Optimus laptop, so you can enjoy the Nvidia gpu. It's the only distribution that does it right, out of the box, among all I tested (including Manjaro, Fedora and Ubuntu)

my only gripe with pop os is not using grub as a bootloader, making using several different kernel versions a bit of a pain
