Normally you would drag and drop/import footage. But with Red footage doing that method creates a crazy folder structure in premiere pro. Thus using the media importer inside premiere fixes that issue and you can have a single folder of footage to work with.

does it let you import all the many clips in one go without giving you that awful folder structure Red has? - with three copies and a seperate folder for every of the 200 or so clips I have! Red was obviously designed by engineers not video editors who want to be productive...

Ahh yes - import via media browser does sort the Red file structure issues and each file appears in one list and as one clip so they can easily be imported together.

tried this way but didn't bring over audio files ? any reason why ?
