Color Finale Transcoder - Import raw media directly into Final Cut Pro

A new extension to import raw camera formats
BRAW, ArriRAW and CinemaDNG directly into Final Cut Pro!

To many filmmakers and video editor’s frustration, not all camera media can be imported directly onto the Final Cut Pro timeline.  Having to transcode your media first adds an extra and often time-consuming stage to your workflow. eg. BRAW footage shot on a Blackmagic camera requires a third-party application to transcode files into Final Cut compatible format before you can get to editing.

Using the new Color Finale Transcoder extension is easy; it gives you an instant preview of your ingested video plus a full range of camera setting adjustments directly within the import interface. You can load multiple clips at once and choose the destination SDR or HDR color space.

Color Finale Transcoder streamlines your workflow bringing camera media directly into Final Cut Pro!

Official release: April 19th .

So if I'm understanding this correctly, with this you *_still_* can't work *_NATIVELY_* with e.g. BRAW *_in the timeline_*, right? 😒
So unless I'm misunderstanding, claiming "Import raw media directly into Final Cut Pro" is extremely misleading, hm? I.e. _is a lie_ . Or are you NOT transcoding before it hits the timeline?? Of course you are, since there's still no other way. Whereby I can *_already_* import cDNG and ArriRAW *_natively_* without this, so I don't know why I would need this aside from maybe saving me the step of doing it externally (for free)??

this is AWESOME! importing BRAW directly will definitely save me time because I like BRAW but I prefer to edit in FCPX which is so much faster than anything else.. bravo ColorFinale!

Nice, but when will Color Finale work with the new M1 Mac?! Almost all other plugs-ins I use for final cut have transitioned over, but not Color Finale.

So it transcodes the footage? That's what I'm doing now via Resolve to FCPX. I'm looking to be able to just import the files and work with BRAW natively and adjust raw settings in FCPX? Would love to know more about the workflow with this.

I'm experiencing a terrible time with the CF Transcoder - It simply won't open! I hope it all
gets sorted sooner than later. May as well just go through the ordeal of dealing with Resolve for all the trouble it's worth. I'm waiting for CF to answer my email and sort things out.

Super interested. BRAW in FCP would be amazing!

This is a welcome addition! It looks like it makes the transcoding process easier, which is helpful. Right now, transcoding in Resolve first is quite a pain.

What I would put on the wish list is some way to allow access and control of the RAW parameters (white balance, ISO, etc.) AFTER the initial transcoding so that it automatically re-transcodes with the new settings.

I’d also like the ability to ingest just the portions of the clips I need. In Resolve, this is a giant PITA compared to FCPX.

Finally, if it could transcode from BRAW to ProResRAW, that would be amazing.
