James White debated Leighton Flowers on whether or not John 6:44 teaches the Calvinist doctrine unconditional election. I show the moment that James White lost the debate. I also explain the fundamental problem with systematic theologies vs Scripture as our sole authority.

Amen!!! God didn’t have His word written in the form of a systematic theology because He didn’t want to.

White lost when he finished his opener. It was his point to make, and he never established that John 6 teaches the Calvinistic doctrine of UE. Flowers didn't have to do anything to win.

God draws all men unto Him and He gives a measure of faith to every man, it's then up to us to decide where to place our faith.

That's insane, Luke 23: 39-43 there were two thieves on the cross one got it, and Jesus said today you will be with me in paradise and the other thought it was stupid. They both had the same amount of time. The Sprit drew him he was called. There wasn't a lecture or credits that needed to be attained to get into heaven.

If Calvinism is True it's True for everyone...Under Calvinism people would of Necessity be doomed from the Womb...We should all be thankful that Calvinism is NOT True...And one day James White will admit he was wrong in his understanding of the Bible...Praise the Lord...

Great teaching. Funny, I just watched Flowers and White's debate today. I agree with you, when you follow Jesus Christ there's no need for any ism. You can't improve upon perfection.

I have lived my life on God's Word alone, no commentaries, only Scripture references to subjects/topics, that's all I wanted from 12 years old till decades later. I've never been disappointed or misled. Isms help me understand the Bible even more clearly as they lead me to test my understanding and I re-read with their POV, but God always has a different POV, His.

So refreshing to hear someone who doesn't feel it necessary to repackage God's Perfect Word. It is truly simple to those that are willing to die to self and live for Jesus Christ as His true disciple.

God's love to you and all seeking Him with all of your heart, mind and soul. I'm grateful that God acquainted me with you, Brian, stay encouraged, He loves your faithfulness..

White looked foolish again. Why in the world cant he defend his position instead of just refusing to answer the question??

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Very straight forward here...James White is a false teacher who does not rightly divide the Word of God

7:11 I agree for the purposes of the debate would have been better titled "Calvinism" vs "Scripture" and still use the same under-statements. For what it's worth, my understanding of how the 'Provisionist' moniker evolved was in trying to restate or reclaim what has been known in Baptist circles for a century as the Traditional view point of how salvation occurs. But the Calvinists moved in to 'reclaim' the Traditional position, ala, the Founders movement which sought to reestablish the original Southern Bapt. Calvinist roots as the 'real' 'original' Traditional position.. which also favored slavery, BTW.🤔 So, as Leighton began his channel opposing the Calvinist resurgence in the SWB and in opposing Limited Atonement and Unconditional Election.... and proclaiming that God has made 'provision' for all through Christ, that line of thinking unintentionally was tagged with the name of "Provisionism". It was NOT intentional, certainly not on Leighton's part. It was just a way of distinguishing themselves from Calvinists... because both camps actually claim to be "Bible Believers" ... Seriously, have you ever engaged a Calvinist who does not claim to hold the "Real Bible" position? They all claim to be Bible Believers.🤷🏻‍♂🤷🏻‍♂ If we're both Bible Believers... what are we disagreeing about? Sadly, you've got to call it something. It's like discussing the Baptism in the Holy Ghost with Cessationists, Pentecostals, and non-Pentecostals... or is it the Baptism in the Spirit?🤷🏻‍♂🤷🏻‍♂At least we have the English Language... I wonder what it would be in Swahili.

Amazing how Calvinists want to stick to the text debated when other scriptures are brought in, but can't help but bring in non-scripture when developing their interpretation FOR Calvinism.

I have followed Flowers for a couple of years now, and he didn't set out to create a new "ism." He accidentally created a big tent for anyone who wasn't a Calvinist. He holds to a Traditional Southern Baptist soteriology.

The main gist of Provisionism is the idea that the gospel is the Word of God, which is sufficient in itself, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to enable a response in all who hear God’s appeal to be reconciled to Him (John 6:63; Hebrews 4:12).

I find it amusing that Calvinists accuse those who disagree with them of being prideful or arrogant.

I think James White has spent more time studying introducing logical fallacies into his crafty rhetorical debates than he has studied theology! I would love to see a YT commentator, in hushed tones, like in a sports match, drop in a running commentary on White’s recurring use of the long list of logical fallacies he is so adept at using; such as “and here is a straw man argument, and here is a begging the question strategy, and here is an appeal to(Dr. White’s) authority! etc, etc! His expertise on constant use of every logical fallacy should be used in debate curriculum everywhere to show how NOT to debate! BTW, Love your content brother as we agree on most everything, as in the same radically balanced scriptural mindset! 😇

always enjoy your work my friend. Agree with you completely on this subject. White, Peters and the like will never admit they are wrong, we can only pray for them. God bless you and your work.

At 50 minutes into the debate James White brought up the T and U of the tulip when he said he presupposed the U based on those principals. This opened the door for the other questions that Leighton asked. This was totally on topic and showed a weakness to James White's argument.

Awesome !
Love the part on “isms” I’m 59 yrs old, (definitely not a Calvinist) been a Christian almost 30 yrs and struggled with these denominations/isms probably 25 of those years.
Today, I believe the Bible. If I don’t understand something nowadays I simply trust God.
I probably fall in line with 5 different denominations on Eternal Hell, Where we go immediately after we die, Free Will and others. I’ve had people tell me I’m going to Hell because I don’t believe Hell is eternal for us. I’ve been told I’m going to Hell because I don’t believe faithful followers of Jesus Christ are going to Hell because for whatever reason they weren’t baptized by full immersion…. The list goes on. It’s very frustrating but I believe we follow a God bigger than all the boxes people try putting Him in and when I do get to Heaven ( God willing)
I will not first have to pass a written test.
Thank you Brother
