We're hearing a lot about Rust in the JavaScript ecosystem lately. Should you learn it? Will it replace your browser skills?

I'm a Java programmer and I'm currently learning Rust and really enjoying it. Coding in a non garbage collected programming language is a lot of fun !!!

Awesome video! Definitely appreciated the callout to sometimes certain terms get thrown around and it feels like it is happening at a different context. I think that’s what used to make me nervous about diving in but that has since changed when I saw it as something that shouldn’t be the first thing I needed to focus on.

Nice content. I’ve been working as full stack JavaScript developer for more than 7 years and finally I’m convinced that RUST could be the language to replace JavaScript at least in backend

I'm deeply interested in picking up Rust for curiosity sake as a developer but I've been hesitant as my main priority is to get a job. I've pushed my interest to the side because I hadn't wanted to cloud my knowledge working with JS and the ecosystem around JS but I'm still not sure if learning Rust would make me "rusty" in what I'm just starting to feel comfortable with; given the amount of time and effort I've heard it takes to get up to par. It's not to say I'm going to forget anything in the JS world or not get value from picking up another language but come time of interviews and opportunities, its nice to be sharp with the tools being hired for. I'm going to have to sit with this one but hope I do have time to indulge in the Rust world.
