For people who are unfamiliar, when Catherine says "crud apps" near the end, what she's talking about are actually "CRUD apps", and it doesn't mean "poor quality." CRUD is just an acronym for basic data operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete) that don't require any interesting code (once you're senior, anyway). It wasn't written down, so maybe you wouldn't know.

I got in to tears 😢watching this video. I was very demotivated entire day today and frustrated with study of programming, until watched this video.
Your inspirating words and clear roadmap gave me a confidence boost that i can also learn Java like others .
Thanks so much for giving hope to others 🙏

Literallly the best advince i can give you if you wanna learn anything is that tutorials are ok but specially if you are a beginner maybe they wont fulfill you curiosity about any language, in that case look for a book which is gonna have even more content and sometimes with more quality and take more longer than a tutorial
EG: Eloquent Javascript needs to be upgraded but still is a great book to start

Hi Catherine,
I’m currently learning full-stack development, and to be honest, there are times I struggle with confidence — especially when trying to build something on my own. Even after following tutorials, I often feel like something’s missing.

I really admire your journey and would love the chance to talk with you one-on-one if you're open to it. I believe a quick conversation could give me some much-needed clarity and motivation.

Thanks either way — I appreciate your time!

Very helpful. I am a senior who is long retired. We have a senior golf league, and one person has developed an online website. He is looking for a backup so I'm going to see if I can learn enough to help. The resources you described are very helpful. I was not a programmer, but I did use query languages in one job. Thanks, and take care.

"The faster you go, the faster you forget." 👍👍 This is especially true in roles where coworkers are expected to take a crash course in new frameworks or languages (over the unpaid weekend) and dive straight into sprints—learning only as they build the product, with little time for dedicated research or foundational understanding beforehand.

What's pretty wild is that I am currently in a bootcamp, and I had no problem with the HTML/CSS materials, I was really confident. The second we hit JS, I started feeling like NOTHING was sticking anymore. I forgot how to do basic HTML things because JS had baffled me so hard lol.

easily the best resource recommendations for learning how to code i have ever come across thank you so much, i've spent years trying to start coding and felt like so much is being missed out of the learn in 1 hr content, got to point i didnt mind learning in hrs i just needed the resources and everything recommended from other channels was behind a pay wall e.g i like Mosh vm but i couldn't get far without him suggesting buying a course. You are amazing I wish I found your content a long time ago!

learning anything takes time, don't be so focused on trying to learn quickly otherwise it will become a grind and you will get frustrated and burnt out

Omg, thank you for theses resources. I was hella lost and mindblanked learning a new programming language. Believe me, I almost gave up and kept endlessly researching tutorials. Hoping to hear more resources and pave my way to become a software engineer in this great community. Thank you once again.
