Like others say, you don’t need the card if you already have a Thai bank account, just transfer funds via the Wise App. I use the card if travelling to another country, then it can be handy, also the first £200 is free of any transaction charges per month! Also Wise pay interest when money is kept in there interest account!

Don't really see the need for it. I use the wise app to transfer money from US bank account to Thai bank account. I use my Fidelity debit card to withdraw money at ATMs in Thailand with no foreign transaction fee. The local fee imposed by the Thai bank is reimbursed to me by Fidelity. Much easier than dealing with another card.

The wise card is very handy if you haven't yet opened a bank account if the country you are in or are travelling.

You can open and close multi currency accounts quickly and convert money from your default currency to local ones.

You can even specify that you want to convert to a local currency but have it wait until the exchange rate is above a certain level that you tell it to get the best rate when it is fluctuating.

Hey Mike, can you please make a Video about the Tax Situation in Thailand. Thailand wants everyone staying 180 days or longer to declare taxes starting this year.

You can use it in a Thai ATM, but you still need to pay/incur the Thai bank ATM fee. Better to transfer funds from Wise to your Thai bank and withdraw from Thai bank. No feed and if anything goes wrong, you can deal with that locally in Thailand.

Hey Mike, Wise accounts are not being issued to US citizens currently. Do you have any idea when that will change?

I'm coming to Koh Samui pretty soon. I've heard that if I don't want to pay atm fees it's better to go to bank and get cash from my revolut card. Can you tell me where I should go because there are mostly atm banks and nkt a real bank. I found one Bangkok Bank but nothing on lamai beach where I' ll stay

Not clear where is the money you withdraw coming from ? Directly the US account or some kind of balance ? Is this card basically linked to a wise bank account ? Not clear but eager to find out more !

Any normal person who needs something important sent uses courier services, They do not use normal mail.

I've got 3 debit cards for 3 different banks in the US and 1 investment bank. I should be OK. I'm getting all the cards re-issued so they don't expire for many years.

Great card but not the best option in the real world as there is a monthly limit you can withdraw at atm. Think it’s just $350 odd dollars per month. Not much at all.

Wise pissed me off by canceling my still valid card and then refused to send me a new card to Thailand! I am using the electronic version but I still know that when I travel I will have issues with withdrawing money from Cash machines in local currency!

I use to like wise a lot for sending money abroad, but now I've had multiple transactions and my funds frozen/locked when sending money to Thailand for no reason at all. They then request intrusive personal information about myself, my job, money, etc etc etc. Very frustrating when you are expecting an instant transaction and then have to gather documents and wait days for no reason at all...

Thailand for some obscure reason destroyed the debit card my bank sent to me, done the same to someone else I know
