The Tau Missing Unit

The Tau have many different factions within their armies but when it comes to their stealth faction, it's lacking something...So we decided we would make it! We share our design thinking process along with conversion, colour theory and psychology for the scheme we chose

Once upon a time, many editions ago, the Pathfinders were supposed to fill the role of stealth infantry, how scouts are supposed to be stealth infantry for Space Marines. When GW decided that marker lights were the way to play Tau they became fleshy marker light generators.

As a reformed Tau player I think a tau stealth army would be super cool.

This was super interesting and the model was great! There used to be a smaller xv15 (its in the cgi short film) stealth suit, that was a precursor to the xv25, but that model was discontinued. This was a different take and was fun to see

nice use of clear resin. I never fought to use clear resin to make "camouflage off effect". Now I want to do it for myself.

Another thing You mention is that Tau Stealth Suits are bulky and big, and I fully agree with that, but they weren't that always. First they were XV15 (modern is XV25), that was standard infantry with some additional stuff, and for me they worked better. it's one of many GW "downgrade by update" cases.

Maybe people might disagree, but i feel like something Tau are missing is their Auxiliaries, yes we have Kroot and Vespid, but we need some form of militia made up of humans and whatever else aliens that serve the Tau empire.
For an empire which is supposed to be inclusive of many alien races which all strive to spread out into the galaxy, we don't really get to see that in model form

I had hoped there’d eventually have a Shadow Caste. One made up of different castes, but using all their talents towards sabotage, assassination, and other forms of espionage.

If I may make a suggestion. If you look at the original pewter tau stealth suits aka the XV15 stealth suits that would make for a better Tau stealth themed infantry

Light scout infantry would be cool for Tau, i do wish they brought back the older stealth suits that weren't as bulky as the current ones though

10:30 I think you're right about an infiltrator infantry unit, they should be a very light and fast unit and go behind the enemy lines. So they need a jetpack backpack, without backpack they are as slow as the standard infantry but without ammo/tool storage and without communication system, it's not good when you are alone behind the enemy 😅

For me the biggest missing unit is anti-heavy monster/vehicule for the kroots, GW should bring back an updated Great Knarlok

Obviously, the stealthy infantry has always existed. It's just noone has ever seen them, just like purple orks!
