1. she's Elliot's wife Molly.
2. she's Elliot's daughter.
3. she's just another experiment.

Great theory. I was hoping you'd mention that her location was also right down the hall from Elliot's office when you exit via the previously blocked door. The key to his office was also in the shape of a poppy flower, and Poppy seems to have had access to these keys.

On a different note; why is Poppy affected by the "red smoke" considering her hair smells like poppies? I would assume she would have some resistance to the gas. Maybe she does. She said she heard everything while being trapped in her case while she was asleep. Seems she was semi-conscience somehow. What do you think about this? I'd love to hear your theory about Poppy being affected by poppy gas even though she literally smells like poppies.

Looking at the adoption tape, I always saw Stella as genuinely horrified. While I still think she knew about the bigger bodies initiative, I thought it hurts her deeply knowing that an orphan who was so close to living a new life loses their life from experimentation. She then has to see the faces of greatly upset parents who are left clueless on what happened to the child they wanted to adopt

poppy feels so sinister. the change in her demeanour feels so extreme, from her saying "youre too perfect to lose" that doesnt sound like she needed our help at all. she purposefully made the player stay. its almost like she thinks of the player like her play thing. the only toy we killed on our own accord was huggy but the rest was because of her. it feels like the player is her pawn. regardless of who she is, i think she is the last boss

This theory further solidifies in my mind the fact that Elliott Ludwig Hass to be the prototype too… I think the prototype was protecting Poppy by locking her in the case, and there is a lot that she has not told us as the player, a lot that she’s hiding from us…

Finally!! Someone out there explaining who poppy is without accusing her of murdering us lmfao. I'm 100% sure she's Elliott's adoptive child, and that he started this initiative in order to bring her back to life. I also like the addition of poppy's room being a replica of home sweet home so she doesn't feel isolated, really sold it off for me!

Part of me wonders if a twist could be that Poppy is maybe Elliot's younger sister. Everyone always says it's his daughter, but that would seem way too obvious. Maybe his sister and her family were in an accident of some kind and that effected him. Could be his sister died and she had children who became orphans--which would explain his sudden interest in helping orphans

Nice theory. I think Poppy IS Elliot Ludwig’s adopted daughter. She did say that she caused many bad things including death. But it could’ve also been the divorce. She also must have been friends with many people before the Hour of Joy. But she must have found that Kissy was still the person she was before.
