I believe that DogDay used to be the mysterious scientist Dr White, who after being caught by Sawer while trying to save the children turned him into DogDay and then had him ripped in half after rejecting the Prototype's control by helping Poppy and was either left to rot in the Playhouse or left as food for the other bigger bodies

You know, I think the most tragic thing about DogDay is that he’s the most marketable character in the entire game to both boys and girls but they can’t sell him as a toy like they did with monster Catnap because he’s been sliced in half and is all gory looking. If they wanted to sell him as a toy, they’d have to fix him up. They can’t bring him back in a flashback either because DogDay never knew the player like the other toys did since he’s introduced like he’s never met the player. Every time I hear anything about Poppy Playtime, a lot of kids and adults mostly point to monster DogDay being their favorite character and wanting a toy of him. Heck, I’d buy him the second he comes on the market.

I think that Dogday is more than likely a child we haven’t heard of yet, or an employee who volunteered, but none of the others who were turned knew who he was.

Makes sense as to why he was accepted by the others.

And I also think that this isn’t the first time Dogday has been put through this body hijack thing. So he might still be alive.

Sawyer makes comments about how pleased he is with Catnap’s behaviour and the difficulty of the procedure, considering Experiment 1188 was in 1991 and the Pierre video you’re using as a reference was in 1994 (Theo’s third year as a Bigger Body) the timeline doesn’t match up if we assume that all of the smiling critters were made in consecutive order

The voice actor isn't exactly a solid proof. The radio voice has the same actor as well, and
Miss Delight, the Counselor and the cutouts of Hoppy Hopscotch, CraftyCorn and Bobby Bearhug are all voiced by Avalon Delaney.

I only saw people comment about it in some others videos. I think, the things that go against the theory are that vhs of Leith Pierre talking to Catnap on his fourth year as Bigger Body, kind of implies that the doctor was out recently and mentions about Dogday and Pickpiggy like they have been there for a long time, meaning he was still working when Dogday was made, and the one about Bron says that the other experiments can notice when one of them is an adult, never looked like Dogday was outcasted from others in the past.

Everyone is theorizing on Dogday being Dr. Sawyer or Dr. White, but what about Samuel Lee? Dogday could be that orphan since Samuel Lee is the only named orphan other than Theodore Grambell who we know got turned into Catnap, and other than Catnap, Dogday is the last of the smiling critters. I believe Samuel Lee is Dogday.

My theory is that dogday was a child but since the hiur of joy was like, 20 years ago and he was basically chained up after the hour of joy, than the child in dogday must have grown up, explaining his adult voice

My personnal opionionis that he's Samuel Lee. If u dont know who Sam is let me explain. In one of the vhs tapes in Chapter 3 we learn that a boy named Samuel Lee was chosen by Dr. White for experiments. On his 'leaving' one of the take carers (not Ms. Harper), told the orphans to say bye to him for his lasr day. I dunno if he really is him but it's 'Just a theory'.

I have my opinions on this theory, but even putting that aside, this theory is flawed in my opinion because:

A: DogDay and Sawyer sharing the same voice actor is interesting, but it's also a stretch. I mean, by that logic the Councilor is Bobby BearHug, Hoppy Hopscotch, CraftyCorn and Miss Delight all at the same time.

B: this theory is completely debunked by the tape shown in this video. In it, Leith Pierre speaks about the Doctor's disappearance as if it's recent. However, in that same tape, he mentioned that it was being recorded during Theo's 4th year in CatNap's body and that CatNap and all the other Smiling Critters – including DogDay who is directly mentioned by name – were all added into Playcare at the same time. Therefore, if the bigger body DogDay was created and added into Playcare 4 years before Dr Sawyer went missing, it is impossible for Swayer to be DogDay.

Finally, this is more of a personal opinion, but I hate this theory because if it is true, it completely ruins the DogDay encounter. The scene is meant to be horrific and to show the player how evil CatNap is by torturing him. However, if DogDay is Dr Sawyer – the man behind the Bigger Bodies Initiative who directly caused all the suffering of the children in Playcare and the BBI victims, then this scene completely changes. Now it's cathartic to see him suffer the same fate as his victims – like Willaim Afron getting himself spring-locked – and his suffering is kind of deserved.

One of the many reasons DogDay is my favourite character in the game is because despite how much agony he's put through, he still wants the player, someone he just met, to escape. He even begs the player NOT to save him. Even if he's lost all the positivity and wholesomeness of his cartoon counterpart, he's still kept his selfless.

Nothing against you or anyone who believes this theory, I just both don't believe it and don't like it.

I don't think Sawyer is Dogday. Think about it the man is a sociopath. Taking sick pleaser in seeing pain inflicted on others. They are characterized by their inability to feel remorse for their actions, according to the info I found on Google. So this couldn't be Sawyer unless they managed to wipe his mind. Making him start on a blank slate mentally.

Dogday sounds too old to have been a child experiment - and I'm not talking about his voice, I'm meaning the way he actually constructs sentences; he's far more eloquent than any of the other experiments that are confirmed to have originally been children. At the very least he was a teenager - but adult employee who saw too much or disagreed with the goings-on in the factory is my best bet.

I’m pretty sure DogDay is just a child who has aged into an adult which is why his voice is deep or his voice box thing is just meant to be like that.

I don’t think dogday is Harley Sawyer bc in project playtime when you hear Sawyer he sounds like he has an accent same thing with poppy and Stella Stella has an accent

It’s very likely that DogDay is still alive, I mean why would MOB use a beloved character and give no information about him whatsoever then kill him off right away. DogDay was definitely an important character to the lore and they didn’t give any information on who he actually was before he was experimented on, he could appear again in Ch.4.

My headcanon is that the DogDay we see isn’t the original one that was made; perhaps the original one died trying to escape the factory or started to act up around the kids? And so, obviously, the company needed a replacement, but had no good enough orphans ready. So, in a frantic hurry, Leith forced Harley into being the test subject for the new DogDay. Catnap (Theodore) then found out who DogDay really was, and cut his legs off and left him to suffer alone as revenge for what he did to the orphans. It’s just my headcanon, but it makes at least some sense to me

This makes a really good point. I knew there had to be something really wrong with the fact that Dr. Sawyer was “out.” I think that Laith, having the horrible business he did, would say that to cover up something more serious. I would also believe that it was a punishment for him after what he did to the orphans. With a punishment like that, he would see the errors of his ways but he would also know that it was too late to make things right. This might seem a little far fetched, but I would like to believe that’s why DogDay was so concerned for the player and warning them to leave immediately. Maybe Sawyer recognized the player as an old employee, and he grew concerned they would befall the same fate. Whether this is true or not, this is an interesting theory!

I believe that dog day used to be a kid and a friend of Theo think about it, why would the doc be friends with a kid that's also going to be an experiment like Theo
Theo is catnap for people who don't know, and dog day is a friend of cat nap dog day said "we" tried to fight it I think that since cat nap is under control of the prototype I think before he got controlled, tried to fight "it" with dog day, I mean that's what friends do? dog day got tortured because he tried fighting the prototype
