Exposure is definitely uncomfortable, which is also why it's necessary. I've been going through a lot of dreadful experiences lately and my emotional state has been unstable at best but I've also seen more growth than ever in my life in the process. Every bad experience is an opportunity to learn something and you can either let it destroy you or rise from it not just victoriously but stronger and better than you were before. It's pretty staggering just how much it transformed me and as much as it sucked to go through I also think it helped me save my relationship with my girlfriend from the brink of collapse.

Bravery is not fear of the unknown in throwing caution to the wind. Bravery is understanding the risks in allowing for them and or countering them accommodation and mitigation the outcome to reach a common goal that is better than where you stand

How do you mitigate your perceived injury?

I severe agoraphobia to the point of starving because I could not go out and buy food. What was needed was forcing myself to go outside and now I work and walk around. You have to face your fears to better yourself.

Showing bravery is not the answer being defendable unless opening your self to negotiative table in a ground of mutual understanding so theres no room to be timid or afraid of so that you are completely out of being confronted more of a home front or hospital environment handle by a resposible person being more strait forward a professional helping the opponents which help both parties to agree on fundemental issues which bosses them to each side they prefer to or evolving us in a tug of war

Wow. Peterson makes a short where he sounds like a true therapist and not just another goon from the right.

How to confront the future if it is future?

Exposure therapy only offers a temporary fix and the progress you make gets reset given a short period of non exposure. You must look hard and deeply inside yourself to the root cause and truely
Let it go

Interesting. This video made me realize that I wasn’t afraid of spiders I was afraid of being bit by a spider. That, believe it or not, changes everything.

There is room for exposure but fear is often justified. Being brave over sticking your head in crocodile's mouths is just stupid.
