IMPORTANT: After running a normal software update, run Post-Install Root Patch in the OpenCore Legacy Patcher application again. As @SirPalimPalim mentioned, if your Bluetooth isn't working (automatically turning off after turning it on), reset the PRAM/NVRAM by holding Option + Command + P + R on a reboot.

Did a fresh install of Sonoma on a late 2013 27inch iMac using Legacy Patcher without a hitch.. Ran Post -install Root Patch after the reboot Mac specs- i5 3.4gh, 16gb 1600 ram, 3tb Fusion drive and 4gb Nvidia graphics. Aiis still running well after about 3months. Great content Anson. Keep it coming. 👍👍

Upgrading from a HDD to an SSD on an older system REALLY makes an improvement.

If your Bluetooth isn't working (automatically turning off after turning it on), reset the PRAM/NVRAM! That did the trick for me. :) Thank you for your tutorials!!

I also have a late 2013 MacBook Pro and i did follow the instructions on your first video. Badaboom! It worked flawlessly.
I can finally use Garageband again, making this MacBook relevant again instead of a paperweight. :D

Thank you!

I followed your guide on an old laptop I had essentially written off (Late 2010 MacBook Air with the 2.13 Core 2 Duo) and I am shocked at how well this computer is running. I upgraded directly from OS X High Sierra without formatting and all of my user account info, files and settings were retained during the update to Sonoma. Pretty impressive that a computer that shipped with Snow Leopard (10.6.8) is still running a current OS 14 years later.

Buddy, this is an excellent tutorial video. Especially showing the entire process and informing about the restarts was very helpful 🤝

Been running Ventura on a 2012 Mac mini with a SSD and a 16 GB of ram upgrade and it’s been incredible I do wish the Mac Mini was a quad core but the dual core intel 2.5 hasn’t really been a problem and the 16GB of ram have been such a huge upgrade

It WORKED!!! MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2014 - The first thing I checked was Logic and it now works!!!! Thanks!!! I did not do a clean install. I had a Pro Video software update. It ran and updated without any issues.

Glad I found this, not sure if I can update my old iMac Mid 2011, I got the ram masked out and the drive needs to be replace, but I can use the Ssd, I have done it for Snow Leopard and works great! Just using the old apps where the new OS can't do them.

Got Sonoma 14.3 up and running with no problem whatsoever, my question is: Do I have to apply the OpenCore patch before updating every time, seeing that there is an update available? Thanks, great videos, extremely helpful. Greetings from the UK.

Presently I am installing Ventura using the unsupported option. I will try Sonoma later on. I am slowly getting rid of my Windows 10 and 11 computers. My iMac is an iMac late 2012 model.

I've been using Opencore since 2021. It's been excellent on all the Mac's I've tested ranging from 2009 to 2017. I own a 2017 iMac now and it's been fantastic with 16GB of RAM and 500GB SSD.

THANK YOU 💜 THANK YOU 💜 THANK YOU 💜This was a bit glitchy to install (USB thumb drive problems; wireless keyboard problems) but once we got past the glitchy to the actual download, it was smooth sailing! Thank you so much for posting this video~ we watched you closely step by step so when it wasn't working right we could see what it should look like and go back and re-do steps. I have an iMac 27" screen, late 2013 desktop that I've taken really good care of since I bought it over 10 years ago, hard drive was replaced in 2018, RAM is fine and extra memory in the spare slots put in last year, screen is still beautiful and crisp and really nice for watching videos, everything is fine, it was just that Apple wouldn't let it update out of Catalina and Apple was no longer producing updates for Catalia itself leaving the security of the computer vulnerable. And from an economic and environmental viewpoint I have a BIG problem with that. Now I'm running Sonoma 14.5 latest update NO PROBLEM. And the only cost was our time and 2 USB sticks (the first one we wrecked...ooops). You deserve a million subscribers!!! 😘

I did a fresh install as well on my mid-2015 15" MBP. The post-install menu in OCLP app is showing me that all applicable patches are installed, so I'm guessing I shouldn't have to run it again. The only thing I've noticed so far is that it spins up the fans really loud when the wallpaper animates as a screen saver on the lock screen. It takes a few minutes for them to cycle down, so I disabled that animation feature.

I had a problem when using my iPad as a second screen. It’s super glitchy and hazy, not sure what to do.
