There's nothing inherently wrong with creatine hcl itself, but it does the exact same thing as creatine monohydrate only for a significantly higher price. The only "benefit" (if it's even a real benefit) is that the serving size is slightly smaller. But creatine monohydrate is also tasteless, so it's really not a big deal having to consume a few extra grams. Creatine monohydrate does not cause bloating, cramping or subcutaneous water retention - these are simply imaginary problems supplement companies create in order to sell you a higher priced option. It's extremely bio-available, will fully saturate your muscles with creatine after around three weeks of daily use and is safe to consume long term. There’s really nothing more you can ask for from a creatine supplement.

I bought creatine like 5 months ago and it was 34$. Pretty good price.
I went back the other week and that bish was 89$. I had to do a triple take and left the store 👏🏽✋🏽

Did mono, couldn’t handle the bloating, switched to HCL and very minimal bloating of not any . Worth the extra few bucks for me

Yea mono hydrate is the way to go, but honestly I did struggle when first starting out with it and it gave me a lot of stomach issues lol. I was shitting like mad. Once I started dissolving it more completely using warm water instead of cold (or putting it into my shake instead of by itself in water) it went away. Something about it not being dissolved or being absorbed alone caused a ton of digestive upset, which I guess makes sense since it’s supposed to be pullin a ton of water.

When i took creatine, i woke up every night around 3 with an inregulate heart rhythm. I stopped taking it, and everything was back to normal.

Bloating (and stomach cramps) isn’t a made up symptom of creatine monohydrate at all. I got so bloated the first two weeks of taking it that I had to run to the bathroom all the time

Not true. I used Monohydrate for a couple of months and every time I took it I was bloated and had stomach cramps. Now it's been a month I'm using HCL and it tastes worst but man it doesn't give me any discomfort. I did notice that I got "puffy" when taking monohydrate (but maybe that was just a placebo). Besides, creatine HCL is still affordable for me.

I'm not going to lie, I've started taking creatine a week ago and I've my muscles are cramping like mad. Now that he mentioned it isn't a side effect, I'm beginning to think it is because I'm obviously not the only one and it's the only thing I've changed of my lifestyle.

I mean....I've used both forms and my body definitely responds and feels better with HCL vs standard Monohydrate.

That "Beyond Raw" creatine HCL was actually cheaper per serving than the monohydrate on the shelf last time I picked some up at GNC though.

But creatine HCL literally tastes like 🤮
