It's really rare these days to see two people able to disagree but still talk respectfully and intelligently.

It's like mixed martial arts but with medicine: take what works, leave what doesn’t, make something better with the things you have

It only takes one person with enthusiasm to make a discovery that moves us all forward. That's why I love a person with passion.

It would be dumbest statement 30 years ago if you said smoking marijuana temporarily relieves Parkinson related spasms. Its almost common sense now.

When population-based medicine coincides with individual-based medicine... does medicine become enlightened?

This interview introduced me to Dr K. I’ve watched a ton of his content ever since. Both brilliant doctors in this interview.

Anyone who’s ever been seriously ill has probably experienced themselves that despite all the progress modern medicine has made there’s still more we don’t know than what we actually do know. Any physician who isn’t open to possibilities is a red flag.

Polio paralysis absolutely can heal. The nerve endings can find new paths and even one healthy nerve can take control of "dead" muscles. The trouble is that as you get older, nerve degeneration can lead to re-paralysis as that single nerve dies from age. Hope that makes sense.

It's at least worth investigating. We used to think leaches as medicine was ridiculous. Now medically sterile leaches are used for circulation when reattaching body parts sometimes. So who knows

Dr K is incredible! Hes the best at getting his point across so anyone can understand and fully see his perspective. Hes also wonderful at hearing out others when it comes to their perspective, whether he agrees with them or not. Always so well composed

psychology is powerful, thats why placebo exists. we underestimate our own power of connection with our bodies

I love how passionate he is in this clip, but it’s not an argument. Like he’s emotional in making the point but it’s because the subject matter is important to him, not because proving Dr Mike wrong is important to him and Mike is drinking in the knowledge being shared. I want to see the whole interaction now.

For those of you who want to hear about how modern medical research is already trying to make connections to past, lost, ancient, or cultural medicine, I recommend the RadioLab episodes The Intersitium and Staph Retreat. Very cool stories.

Love Dr K and I appreciate his approach. Thinking critically but keeping an open mind.

As a music therapist, we are an evidence-based practice. Still, sometimes there is “music magic” that helps a patient so unexpectedly we can’t define it.

It’s because some things about the human body aren’t necessarily “understood” enough by our current scientific means in order to be treated at a systematic level. Eastern medicine has its place because it is a discipline and it’s a discipline not because it’s just a hoax, but because some form or generational experimentation and anecdotes have led to a different and sometimes less accurate solutions to the same human problems.

Improving movement in polio victims is wild! I hope this had its own paper, or at least a preliminary report.

I am an Indian and yoga and Ayurveda is my go to medicine always. It cured my chronic allergies within 8 months and I have been allergy free from the last 10 yrs . Also, I believe in natural remedies. Ayurveda is an ancient science there are tons of books on each condition in Ayurveda… you cannot negate its wisdom

"Ayurveda or Ayurvedic medicine is a system of traditional medicine native to India, which uses a range of treatments, including panchakarma ('5 actions'), yoga, massage, acupuncture and herbal medicine, to encourage health and wellbeing." Yes all that reduces... STRESS.

People in the comments are correct in saying that scientists and science-guided medical professionals need to keep an open mind for new theories and treatments, but more importantly they need to be incredibly skeptical of things which have no supporting scientific research. Anecdotal evidence is not enough.
