There is much to say about Xenoblade Chronicles 3, so I feel that we need to have a serious talk about it...

there's an accessory that allow you to revive your party members from any class

I think they've intentionally limited their storytelling with regards to 3's connection with 1 and 2 to be able to make 3 as standalone as possible.

Regarding your issues about graphics, I think this mostly falls on the limitations of the hardware. We already know that Monolithsoft is capable of doing incredible graphics with X. Maybe in the future Nintendo console, we might be able to see a more polished Xenoblade game.

My only and LARGE issue with XC3 is I always felt overleveled for the majority of story content.

I had to ignore the camp leveling system outright in an attempt to gain some kind of decent cp gains during main story content. Using the camp leveling system basically killed my leveling experience, ESPECIALLY when it came to gaining cp for leveling new classes.

This game hurts you for too much exploration because you overlevel so fast!! But heck, one wants to explore for many reasons! I don't know... It just felt so unbalanced to me like no one played the whole game trying to do the majority of content as they come to it.

I REALLY respect that you can praise this game as one of the best jrpgs of this generation but still point out negatives that you consider unacceptable.

This might actually be my favorite jobs system in any game. I really like the variety in gameplay that comes with the different jobs and I love how you unlock jobs by befriending hero characters and learning the jobs through them. I definitely think it adds to the combat a lot and really gives you a much greater attachment to all of the different colonies.

I'm glad the people who had problems with 2 really like this one. Look forward to getting it!

Reviewers keep complaining about the game having "bad graphics" and I just don't see it. Also I think the claim that it looks exactly like Xenoblade 2 is literally factually wrong, it had to have been a long time since you actually played Xenoblade 2 to say that.

Hard disagree on the graphics. They're a massive improvement over XC2. Resolution is higher and doesn't drop as low. I'm very satisfied. Can't squeeze blood from a rock. This is as good as it gets for Switch games and a world this big with this many characters

XC3 is one if not the best looking game on the Switch at the moment. I really don't get how people can say it looks bad or looks the same as XC2, because it doesn't.

I finished it yesterday after doing nearly everything. Main villain was kinda weak, but I really liked everything else about it. A really damn great game, the ending was still pretty good. Chapter 5/6 were really damn good, definitely the peak of the game. Combat is fucking amazing.

I still really really liked the ending too. I like 1 and 3 pretty equally story-wise, but the characters in this game are a lot better which you could say makes the story better.

Graphic wise, I have to strongly disagree with you.

Same as with the Trails series, for the amount of content and the quality of said content it provides, XC3 has really good graphics.
Gone are the jerkiness and stiffness of expressions of the characters, and their movements look a hell lot more fluid and natural than in previous XCs.
What I think bothered you were the textures, that look more or less early PS3 era.

But guess what? That lagging and framerate drop you complained about? Had the guys at Monolith Soft gone with the PS5/Unreal-Fuckin-Engine level of detail that western AAA games go for, the game would have been totally unplayable in the Switch. It would have had to be PC only, and for top of the line Gamer PCs only, considering the sheer amount of frikin' details that are on the screen at any given time, plus the swift transitions from cutscenes to battles it sports (where the high-poly, cutscene only models switch to low-poly, action models).

Plus, this is a sandbox, and a big ass one on top of that, with troves of characters, objects, enemies, and details all animated in real time, loaded within a single scene (or area). Design wise, if you want to have that level of... clutter AT THE SAME TIME around you, each doing its thing and looking pretty, then you are forcing the consumers to gear up if they want to play the game at all.

Quite frankly, as someone with game design knowledge, I marvel at the skill of the Monolith Soft personnel that managed to make the whole damn mess playable ON A PORTABLE CONSOLE with only very minor, barely noticeable issues.
Like I said, they actually improved the graphics.

So take it like you would with the Trails/Ys series. Especially for a guy like you, who has played RPGs since their humble origins, you should know better than to rise the graphic issue unless they are totally subpar and hinder the experience something bad.

My dude, Eric, the “trackball” thingy to show you the way, is litteraly from Xenoblade Chronicles X. You definately need to play that game. I know it’s stuck on Wii U but it is my favorite XBC game, yeah, I said it. I really liked it. I have not started XBC3 yet but I will soon.

Y'know what, I've had some tiny frame drops, but otherwise the game has held up consistently in terms of visuals. It's a beautiful game.

While yeah, I do have complains about the fact that there are a lot of things left unexplained and almost nothing to go off to make theories, and it's by far the Xenoblade game with the worst villain and worst final chapter, the ending where the group splits up absolutely wrecked my heart. It's a beautiful game and a love letter to the fans, and I really hope the DLC either if it's a sequel or prequel, expands a lot on the lore and explains a lot of things that where left unexplained. I just wish the game was at least two chapters longer so it could have enough time to expand on different subjects like the founders of the city (which will probably be the DLC focus, I'm calling it), expand more on Z's as an antagonist and more on the fusion of both worlds. It has a lot of really cool ideas, it just needed more time to fully develop everything. Still, amazing game and definitely a step up from Xeno 2, the cast of characters where by far the best in the series which made the ending even more heartbreaking.

I love this game but my issue is that it is a horrible sequel. By the end of the game I still feel like we are waiting for a follow up to 1&2. It feels like it’s actively trying to distance itself from 1&2 and for a game that is billing itself as the conclusion to the saga, that is a HUGE let down.

I agree the combat is pretty good, Freely changing character and managing the whole party feel almost like an RTS.

And there's an equipement piece to allow party member who are not healer to revive party member. I did all the game in hard mode and it was a godsend.

I dislike the fact that the menu's bgm cuts the map's bgm. But it's a masterpiece anyway..
