ive heard from the web that for beginner, you need 3 days of rest rather than 2 days of rest. is it correct?

what do you think if it takes 3 or 4 days to erase the damage to your body to recover completely maybe that is a sign that you are over training and maybe instead you should reduce your weight in the workout so you can do it every other day witch way do you think would be better for growth ?

I only rest when I feel like my muscles are sore but if they feel good even after an intense work out, I'll work out again the next day. It's that okay? For some reason if I don't feel sore, I don't think I worked out hard enough.

...you didn't address rest requirements for people in different age groups. I know for a fact men in their 20's recover faster than men in their 50's....  How much rest between work out days for each age group?
