"Be my guest" "Thank you" "You got it" what a polite exchange.

Shane's face when Rick chooses Daryl over him.

You can just see Shane desperately holding back the urge to rub his head in this scene

One line from this season that goes way too unnoticed, yet was the foundation for Rick and Daryl’s relationship in the future was in this episode.

Right after this, Rick is discussing with Daryl where to let Randall loose while they look at a map. Rick looks to Daryl for approval asking, “You sure you want to do this?” To which Daryl responds, “I don’t see you and me tradin’ haymakers on the side of the road. Nobody’d win that fight.”

The “Nobody’d win that fight” line just brings to light Daryl’s true character and how night and day him and Shane are. In this moment, Daryl - the guy that Rick despised, and vice versa the previous season - has just shown more loyalty and brotherhood to him than his own “best friend” has since they’ve reunited.

Truly one of the most underrated scenes of the whole series.

You can tell there's a strong bond, friendship, support and loyalty between those two.

Shane's brutal honesty when he says, "you know that Dale's death and the prisoner are two separate things, right?" He's kind of right about that, I feel. They wouldn't have done it if he hadn't died, and so they were doing it in his spirit. Dale's point was that if they kill people then it changes who they are. He says that the tradeoff isn't worth making the group safer. If they become the people who kill those who are innocent because it's better for their safety what does that make them? Alive. Alive but what kind of a life is it living with that guilt. Shane - and everyone else - thought it was one worth living, Dale did not. Everyone was afraid of the danger so they sided with Shane even though it seemed a lot of them faced much more mental strain than Shane did. Maybe that's because they refused to accept that it was the only way to survive, or maybe it really wasn't worth it. Dale's death took an emotional toll on everyone, and I think it gave them an excuse to ignore the blatant risk, and let that be tomorrow's problem.

If Shane were here now he wouldn’t take any level of disrespect that negan has to offer

Daryl was more of a brother to Rick than Shane ever was. Daryl took care of Ricks kids because Rick wasn’t there to, Shane tried to steal them. Also Rick was more of a brother to Daryl than Merle was. Both Shane and Merle truly show just how strong Rick and Daryl’s bond is, and that THEY are the real brothers in the whole show.

I like how Rick isn’t like “Come on man listen, this is how it needs to be done” and instead just straight up like “this is happening. Deal with it.”

And then Rick proceeded to keep Daryl as his wingman for years to come 🔥 #brothers

You see at this point Rick was showing Shane that he still trusted him by giving him authority basically telling him he was still part of the group even if they had a falling out. Shane was right by killing Randal but Rick and the others wanted to hold on to their humanity they just couldn’t do that anymore.

Rick knew him and Daryl would be an overpowered duo some day

Shane was slowly becoming more confrontational, challenging rick's authority during the situation.

Rick should’ve tested Randall, let him think he was being set free just to see what he does and then decide wether or not to kill him
