Infinite Sweet Potato Method #gardening

I have to admit something...I don't love sweet potatoes like I love potatoes BUT they are way more fun to harvest. Sweet potatoes are much easier to grow, easier to propagate ( you can grow 10s of plants from just 1), and they seem to only ever be affected or slowed by cold weather. Eventually I may learn to love them as much as potatoes but one thing is for sure I will always grow these fool proof beautiful roots in my garden.

This is exactly how I grow my sweet potatoes. We forgot and left it in a corner after we took our slips and still kept growing!

I’ve been growing the same batch of sweet potatoes for years from the original one..
and everything I grow is a container since I’m stuck in a apartment with no garden these days.. I typically have 3-5 big pots of them.. the flowers and vines are gorgeous on the trellises and I get a LOT of potatoes.. I’m forced to grow in a HOT spot adjacent to the parking lot, but as long as they get plenty of water, they don’t mind the consistent 115F heat in the daytime.. awesome crop for a patio farmer ..

I love getting the very thing sweet potatoes, they’re great to just cut up in pieces to go into stews without peeeling, so they don’t break up yet cook quickly. Under appreciated

if you don't trellis your sweet potatoes plants, the vines will actually create more roots throughout the growing space. I find, however, you get much smaller potatoes when you do that. this video is great because the sweet potatoes get extremely large even though you grew them in a bag. thank you!

Your method of generating slips works great - I even got some respectable sweet potatoes this year, despite the bunny eating the greens. I'll try growing them in some of the grow bags this year. That may work better (also in a warmer location).
