That literally explained everything I need to know. Unlike the other youtube videos that go on for an hour!

You literally explained everything important in 2 minutes. Unlike other videos I spend last hour watching and still didn't know what to do. So thank you. That was very helpful 😊

I live in an area (Coastal Virginia) where we grow a lot of sweet potatoes. I make slips outside in large cold frames for the heirloom variety I grow, Hayman. I have just one bit of advice regarding your method. If you bury the seed potatoes completely in sandy soil, the slips start to produce roots while they are still attached to the potato. I am able to pull the slips right off the potatoes in May (and maybe early June depending on the year) and plant them directly because the they have developed the roots necessary for a great start.

I start mine like this in a hanging basket on my living room wall in fall and then have tons by spring. Very beautiful slips ma'am. 💜 Happy growing 💜

Grow lights and heat mats work wonders. Are use the Aero Garden for the grow lights. Whether I use the trough or not.

I love how concise but helpful your video was. It drives me a bit crazy when some tubers say the same thing 20 different times. Such folks could take some lessons from you.

I watched this video a little over a week ago, and decided to give this a shot. I got a styrofoam lid from a shipping box, put about 2 inches of soil in, and stuck in my taters. Umm, I think I have about 20 slip almost ready to put in water...LOL this is so awesome! Thanks.

Thanks for your aluminium foil pan idea! I went out last night and cut a slip off, but then I realized they were rooted already so I gently pulled them off. The difference I made was lightly covering the potato with soil and keeping the soil covering damp. The slips throw roots in the soil covering so they are almost ready for planting. Give it a try!

Thanks so much for this information. I've been slow-growing slips in jars but now I'm excited to use your quick-grow hack!

Thank you! I've planted potatoes before, but this will be the first year growing sweet potatoes. I was wondering how to propagate them, and you've answered that!

Wow. Easy peasy. I’ve been trying to get people in the grow groups to explain this but none have. Thank you very much.

Great video! The only thing I would've liked to have known was how long it took to get those slips. It's helpful for timing and preparing to plant out in Spring. Thanks for the info tho! Informative and to the point.
