Never thought of keeping one as a houseplant. That is genius.

I have watched around 50 YouTubes on sweet potatoes and sweet potato slips (i.e., Im allergic to the nightshade family so I cant eat potatoes and substitute white sweet potatoes)...and your video is the most helpful so far. You condensed the info really well. Thank you! :)

Hi From Wellington New Zealand. Just been growing sweet potatoes for the last two years. Even in our temperate climate it can still be done. One thing I would say is that when you take the slips off the mother potato, if you dont cut it with clippers but just gently pull it out, you will have roots on the bottom and you will be able to plant out straight away!

I love this. You're a great teacher. Gratitude, from a great granny, 82 years old, in big wide beautiful Montana. At 6, 200 ft elevation, on the Continental Divide. Its so cold here at night that sweetbpotatoes have to be grown inside. I know. A gardener for 60 years. It was -45 degrees below zero here this winter. And it snowed all night last night. On March 24. And it will snow here until mid May off and on. And in the old days, every month of the year. Be happy and healthy from granny in Montana. Blessings sent your way. Happy gardening.

I love that you’re making the shorter videos for a quick instruction but I also watch your longer ones when I have the time. I appreciate all of what you offer. 😊

I already have two large sweetpotatoes growing plants in my kitchen! No water or soil, I've done this several times but never put them in soil because of my limited space. I'm ready to grow my own now thank you!😊

I grow Okinawa ( purple) sweet potatoes. During the Covid lockdown, I planted 3 slips, I ordered in the mail.
They grow back themselves. I like to eat the leaves in a salad or juice them.

I would guestimate 17 slips would cost about $20-$25. Im growing sweet potatoes for the 2nd time this summer. Im growing the orange, Japanese, and Okinawan (purple) potatoes. I was able to keep the vines alive through the winter by planting them inside and sitting them in water. Then I planted them in my beds outside on March 3rd. They're doing very well.
