Every morning I eat organic old fashioned oats with Greek yogurt, a scoop of collagen, warmed berries, chia and flax seeds and it’s nourishing and yummy and keeps me feeling great for like 4-5 hours til dinner.

Misleading title. I think most people on a health journey know to stay away from the processed instant stuff. Whew, so glad you’re not actually saying all oatmeal is bad.

Great video Dr Mindy. But as a T2 diabetic- even after losing 50 lbs on Keto and having reversed my diabetes- I do everything possible to avoid carbs except for carbs found in nature from leafy and cruciferous veggies to keep my insulin levels as low and stable as possible.

When I ate oatmeal in the past, even with GF butter added, it still spiked my insulin and after a few hours after the insulin cratered, I became super hungry again.

So I just fast through the morning meal (occasionally with coffee) drinking water with Organify Balance Pre and Probiotics powder and a bit of lemon juice (which I learned from you… Thanks!!) and compress my feeding window to 18/6 or 19/5. That seems to work best for me so far.

Keep up the GREAT JOB!!😊

Cook my 20g organic oats with water, a few raspberries, a tsp of chia seeds and a tsp of flax seeds. A splash of almond milk and a knob of butter added once cooked. Divine.

I eat my steel cut oatmeal with feta cheese :-), so I just have to eat it for dinner and add some avocado or butter. Serotonin is so important for us post menopausal women…

The title kind of confused me as you had recently recommended oats for better sleep. Glad to know you are recommending a healthier option.

I had a brief panic moment. I grow and process my own oats, and I thought Doc Mindy was about to forbid the only grain in my diet. Whew, back to threshing the current crop...

Good to get that information out Dr. Mindy. I am not diabetic. I soak organic rolled oats with organic kefir, a touch of maple syrup and chia seeds. Great recommendation to have it for supper! When is your next book coming out?

Dr Mindy, my heart dropped when I saw the title of your video, but thank goodness it is about the instant stuff *phew*, I love my steel cut oats and I cook mine with water, cinnamon, vanilla, teaspoon of butter, nutmeg and sweeten it with chopped bananas. I also like to cook it savoury.

I don’t see anyone else mentioning it so I will, here in Scotland the oatmeal was cooked slowly for a long time and the extra kept for later. I always thought the ‘porridge drawer’ in a dresser was a myth but it was a real thing and meant that the slab of porridge was slightly fermented by the time it was eaten. Btw, I haven’t tried it 😁

I could see this being true of flavored oatmeal due to excess sugar etc. but not plain or fast oats that can also be used to soothe irritated skin such as in the case of sunburn if you're allergic to aloe vera or laser hair removal which leaves the treated area red and irritated after as someone who does laser hair removal due to access growth resulting from PCOS that has super sensitive skin the Aveno lotion with coloidal oatmeal works wonders after a laser hair removal treatment

One of my favorite breakfasts is taking steel cut oats, homemade yogurt, some vanilla, berries, banana, and chopped green apples and mixing it all together. It is SO good. I’m guessing if the yogurt were full fat, that’s not so bad?

Interesting. I don't have diabetes or any issues like that but have been eating keto for a little bit and gave up carbs like bread, pasta and oats but really love all those things. There is so much conflicting information out there it's starting to make me afraid of food. I'll spend hours researching specific foods and what they're going to do to me if I eat them. I was thinking of incorporating oats back in on a "once-in-a-while" basis. Maybe I'll try the overnight oats recipes I see.
