This is the perfect batch of homemade chocolate chip granola bars. They're the ideal portable snack that strikes a balance between sweet and salty. But most importantly - they nail that chewy texture we all know and love in a classic granola bar.

You know I always look for ways to give a healthy, homemade spin to packaged foods. So today, it was about time I made my own chewy chocolate granola bar recipe! And one that's naturally gluten-free (of course). These healthy granola bars are the perfect snack idea for the afternoon munchies or back-to-school lunch boxes. Enjoy!

00:29 Preheat oven and line a pan with parchment paper
01:35 Mix the dry ingredients together

Honestly, this is the first time that a recipe on YouTube actually blew me away and broke every expectations I had! It’s so balanced, tasty and easy to do.
I’ve been cooking for ever and there’s always some sort of adjustment that can be made to recipes and or things to change to your own taste, but this one, I’ll always gonna follow it to a T religiously 😂.

It’s already my 3rd batch in 2 days, thank you so much!

Thank you for a great recipe! I just made 2 batches-one with peanut butter and one with almond butter. Did not have puffed rice so I used shredded, unsweetened coconut. The bars turned out so good!! Great videos! Much gratitude!!

I made these yesterday and they taste amazing. Gauranteed to cure any sweet tooth or chocolate craving with heathy ingredients. Quick and easy. The hardest part was waiting for them to cool and then set in the fridge. Downshiftology never disappoints. Thanks for another great recipe to put in rotation with my other Downshiftology favs.

Well I finally made these last week and they are literally, hands-down, the best bar I've ever had. I stored them in a glass container and the bits that were left over on the bottom I dumped on top of my yogurt. I will be making another batch tomorrow for my meal prep!

Can I just say WOW?!?! Yesterday I went in search of puffed rice to make these today. After 3 stores I finally snagged a bag. My efforts were not in vain. These are amazing and I would easily meal prep these every Sunday! The only problem I have is that I seriously don’t think they will last me the whole week 😋

Thank you for a healthy treat recipe. I deal with sugar cravings and it's a roller coaster ride sometimes. I'm going to make these asap so I can test them out. Hopefully they can solve this one huge problem I deal with constantly. All day every day! If you have any other healthy treat suggestions, I would love to hear or see them. Hello Lisa.
I just made these today & they are pretty good. Healthy big time.
The only failure is that when cutting them, they started to fall apart a little and started crumbling.
They did not stay in a nice rectangular shape.
Oh well, they still are pretty good.

I’ve made these twice so far, and they are excellent! I followed the recipe exactly but made one minor amendment: I oven roasted my pecans before chopping them. Roasted pecans taste heavenly and I enjoy eating them more, as opposed to raw pecans. I baked some for my boyfriend and then baked another batch for myself. These are perfectly delicious, with a perfect mixture of sweet and salty, crunchy and soft.

Just came across this and I am so grateful for it🎉 my kitchen had been sliding back in to purchasing processed foods during a big move out of state. NO MORE! I made these today and was very impressed with this recipe. It's perfect and full of flavor. Once baked and cooled I got very clean cuts. My trick to that was using parchment on top of the unbaked mixture and used a duplicate pan to compress it, then removed the parchment and baked as usual. I'll be making these from now on and will never buy overpriced, store bought bars again especially since I always have these ingredients in my pantry.

These bars are fantastic! I did decrease the the honey and chocolate chips and increased the nut butter since I try to avoid added sugar. Do you think they would fall apart if I eliminated the honey completely? Thank you for all the great recipes 😊

I am excited to try these. I am tired of eating packaged granola bars, nutrition bars, protein bars and fig bars and then putting the individual wrapper into the garbage for the landfill. I have been wanting to find some recipes like this so that I can avoid all that packaging and also all the garbage ingredients that are in so many of the packaged nutrition bars. I am also going to share this recipe with some of my friends and coworkers that have also gotten into working out and go through a lot of those packaged bars. I know they will be excited about this as well as they are concerned about their footprint. Thank you so much for the recipe.
