Don’t “Feel” Like Working Out? DO THIS!

Показать описание
I often get asked how I stay motivated to never miss a workout. The truth is, there are plenty of days I don’t want to go to the gym. I’d say about half the time (and every leg day), I’d rather skip it. But, I never do. It’s all about mindset.
Ideally, we’d enjoy every single workout and look forward to it every single day. That’s not realistic. On some days, you should feel like that. But, there will be other days where you’re tired, stressed, or simply just rather do something else. That’s ok. That’s normal. It’s also ok to skip an occasional workout. But, if most of us skipped a workout each time we weren’t really looking forward to it, we’d probably skip at least half of our workouts.
Instead, I view working out as something I have to do. Not going to the gym isn’t an option. I HAVE to go just like going to work, school, or jury duty. On days where I’m really not feeling it, I put myself into the mindset of myself in the future after my workout is over. I know how I’ll feel after my workout compared to how I’ll feel if I skip it and that feeling is always enough to push me to work out. When have you ever felt bad for working out instead of skipping it? Never.
Motivation isn’t always easy. It comes and goes and no one can force you to be motivated on a daily basis. Just remember, it’s completely normal to want to skip the gym just like it’s normal to want to call out sick from work. Those are the days that require more mental toughness but they are also the days where you’ll feel even better once you get your work out done.
