Why is there no overhead grab handle for the driver?

The new infotainment system is a huge improvement over the ridiculous mouse and trackpad, but the programmable buttons on the steering wheel are infuriating and are now a deal-breaker for me. I learned them quickly, but between that, the idiotic shifter and the idiotic door handles, they have 'fixed' things that shouldn't have been fixed.
