The 2024 Lexus TX 550h+ Is Japan's Grandest 3-Row Plug-In Hybrid Family SUV

A proper 3-row family SUV has been sorely absent from the #Lexus lineup for years, but that all changes with the introduction of the supersized #LexusTX for 2024. Sitting at the top of the trim levels, the #LexusTX550h is the first-ever 3-row #PlugInHybrid SUV from the brand and this #TX550h has its sights set on vehicles like the Volvo XC90 Recharge and Mercedes-Benz GLE450e. Unlike the other models, this special TX combines a 3.5L V6 with two powerful electric motors to give it the most power in the TX family.

When you can't decide between going fully electric or going with a traditional hybrid, the new TX 550h+ is the perfect PHEV compromise between both and this TX is a special member because of its 3.5L V6 and 2-electric motor combination. We hope this combination eventually makes its way under the hood of other Lexus products, and while this technology is certainly not new in this space, the Lexus TX does offer one of the most spacious interiors in its class.

No massaging seats, No Panoramic Sunroof, Only Dark interiors with a ton a plastic, and it costs 82k?!?!

Honestly, its fine… but I’d rather have the Mazda CX90 PHEV. $82k? The interior of the Lexus does not command $82k. Sorry. No pano-roof on the top trim? No hidden rear wiper? No sexy wood or textured metal trim? Just get the Grand Highlander and save some money.

Looks like a Toyota highlander that's getting ready for a hot date

There's currently a recall on both Grand highlander and TX with a stop sale happening due to driver curtain air bag fault. Surprised no mentions of this anywhere.

Like this vehicle a lot. Too expensive to consider. Put a plug in on the Grand Highlander and take off about $20, 000 and yeah, I’d buy that.

I have a Grand Highlander hybrid, and love it. Around town I get about 38-42 mpg, highway is 32-33. Comfortable, quiet, dependable. I sold a 2015 Highlander AWD with V6 with over 200k miles. Expecting the new GH to be just as reliable. Over 20k miles already, and no complaints.

9:58. The whole interior of many Lexus/Toyota vehicles has signs of cost-cutting, not just this one
You have a giant screen and not much else. The interior reminds me more of Tesla than Lexus
More durable than rich.

At first I was not sold on the design, but seeing them in person, I think they are beautiful, though I do have a preference for restrained design language. I think the interior is nice, but needs more oomph.

Thank goodness there are no bees attacking him. He's wearing the bee repellent. Either that or the Lexus TX 550h+ is so expensive, bees won't even get close to it. "I may be a crazy bee, but I'm not so crazy to pay $82k for that vehicle."

Having a deep understanding of the transmission and the engine in this car, I find it funny that people are picking beef with the amenities in this car. Toyota handed people the holy grail of reliable PHEV's and people are complaining about the lack of a sunroof. Like yeah that would be nice, but I also know this car is going to literally last 20 years. That V6 is the tits, and with assistance from electric motors? Come on!

$82, 782, WoW that is a hefty price tag for such a basic looking SUV; there is not one thing here that is screaming luxury other than that "circle L" on the hood. We are looking for a big lux-SUV, however, Lexus just self eliminated at that price, versus Mercedes and BMW at that price - and now I have to also consider another Infiniti... OH THANKS FOR BRINGING US THE VIDEO and always being so thorough.

Wow, it actually looks great if you close both eyes. Love it!~

7:55 impressive that it can fold flat even for being a hybrid! I’d camp.

New TX is AMAZING but I’d go MDX if the extra space of the TX isn’t needed

I'm sure its a great car, but at 82k its kind of steep for what your getting. Honestly makes the MDX Type-S seem like an insane value compared to this, even tho you lose some space and MPG.

This is the only TX trim worth considering... if it had been at least $10K cheaper.

Toyota is experimenting various powertrains...I wonder if they'll ever release a v8 hybrid powertrain

You should’ve tried and brake torque it also! Just like the RAV4 prime, it should launch even quicker.

The fact that a Cx-90 and Palisade Calligraphy have more eye catching materials and color contrast, than a car that cost twice as much!
