What I love is when he just grabs all of them like "nope, you ain't going through the same shit as me"

I love how they kept this as a revelation, even with everyone already knowing he was a raccoon

This is my favorite part of the movie. As he tries to scoop them all up and carry them to safety, and the babies climbing all over him like he was their mother, it was too precious.

I do think it's incredibly fitting that the keycard Rocket still carries with him - like this token that represents his pain and his grief from what happened to his friends - is what he uses to set all the critters free. Like he's getting a second chance to do it the way he originally wanted to.

The pain and softness you see in his eyes are so genuinely pure, he sees himself, and he knows he saved them from the worst possible thing to ever happen to them. He saved himself. What he wish would've happen to himself.

Ya this movie definitely hits you right in the feels. Some of these scenes with Rocket are some of the most emotional in the MCU.

When Rocket realizes Quill is the closest thing to a brother he's ever met.

just sad how he didn't realized quill has been calling him his actual species name this whole time

He always denied being called a racoon because he thought that it was an insult. And know he realizes that this whole time his friends were calling him from what he was. That they saw him as what he truly was and not a vermin created in lab.

What makes this even better is that after Rocket realizes he is a member of an entire species, he most likely also realized that Lylla, Teefs, and Floor were parts of their own species too. So at least he now knows that none of them were “just stupid experiments to be thrown away”, just helpless beings that fell victim to a madman, still not that much better, but at least he knows that they were all a somebody all along.

I assumed Rocket was an alien raccoon, in reality he’s a Terran/Earthling like Peter

"What's a racoon?!"
"IT'S WHAT YOU ARE!"

This scene makes me think back to that moment in The Kiln. Without even really trying, Quill was the first person to really SEE Rocket.

Because of course he did. They were both taken from the same home.

Barely able to hold the tears when Lyla was killed. But this..this is too much. Rocket finally gaining peace of mind

When they started saving all the animals, that is when they really became The Guardians of the Galaxy. Protecting others, big or small.

I love how there's two layers of this epiphany.
-He's not just a result of a mad scientist. He's part of a bigger race and now embraces his true ancestry.
-He's an earthling, just like one of his best friends and all the musicians whose work he's been introduced to, now knowing that he's been listening to his own home planet's culture this entire time.

Both of these make Rocket realize internally he's his own being and is more than a science experiment.

Who knew finding a bunch of cute fur babies could be such a confidence booster.

The CGI Team did a phenomenal job of transporting his emotions, you can see what he's thinking and feeling... One of my new favorite MCU moments
