My ultra is lasting less that 18hrs and it used to get nearly 3 days the way I use it 😢😮

I've been experiencing the exact same battery life issue as you, and it's driving me crazy. My Apple Watch used to last the entire day, but now it's drained by 4:00 to 4:30 pm as well. What's really puzzling is that I'm not listening to music or doing anything special throughout the day; I'm just focused on work. I have no idea what's causing this problem, and it's incredibly frustrating.

Wait until you try 10.1. It unlocks full Self-Immolation Mode. Where it's overheating the watch to where it won't even charge. So, you have the watch on a charger, and watch the battery drop by like a percentage point every minute.

Beta 10.1 on Apple warch 8. My watch is dead within 3 hrs

I have an SE, only 4 months old. I upgraded to iOS 10 yesterday morning and i had 98% when i did the upgrade. Within 3 hours, the watch was completely dead. I brought it home and put it on the charger. It usually takes about 90 minutes to charge completely to 100%, but i left it on the charger while watching a football game. So it charged for almost 3 hours. The battery was at 21% after 3 hours. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Apple, they think it is a hardware issue. There are 1000's of complaints on their on Support Group Forum about this issue, yet they say they haven't heard about this. I'm unpairing and going to re-pair and see if that helps.

Same here. It takes only 3 hours from 100% to nearly 0%

I found fix!
On the Podcasts app disable settings "Next 10" on your watch then restart watch. If it not fixed your battery drain uninstal all 3rd party apps from the watch then restart. It fixed my S5 Apple Watch!!! I have 75% battery after 6 hours not heavy usage from 100% charge.Wow. Previoulsy my battery was dead after 7 hours not heavly usage on Watchos 10.0 - 10.1 Serioulsy try this fix 👍

I was fine with 10.0. First night after updating to 10.1 my watch didn’t even charge due to overheating 😂 So far I had no more issues with overheating but my battery dies in about 2hrs so I don’t even use it anymore.

I have a less than a year old Apple Watch 8 (wifi model). I never liked the always-on display (never saw a utility for me) so that’s off and I used to end the day with 65%ish and now I’m ending nights with like 30% battery.

Saw a few suggestions that the settings for optimizing charging could be a problem as well. It meant that some watches weren’t charging past 80% so I’m turning it off tonight before I go to bed to see if that might help.

I’ll follow up if it does.

I disabled the Environmental Sound Measurements. This helped a Lot!

S7 WatchOS 10.4, draining 20% per hour. Turned off hand-off, today I only used 38% after 12 hours, which is what I experienced prior to the update.

This video definitely worked for me

I’ve had my watch for 1.5 years now. I typically got about 2 days on a single charge on my watch.

With nothing in my routine changing, the last week maybe two, I’ve been getting maybe 7-8hrs on a single charge.

Typically I wake up at 5:30, out the watch on, at 7-8pm I take it off and it’s at 20-25%.

Now I put it on at 5:30am, around noon-1pm the watch is at 20%, around 2:30 it’s dead.

I know I’m late to the party here but have been experiencing the same thing on my original ultra. Only seemed to be happening in the last few days. Just tried reinstalling everything and starting again without success. Will take another look and if need be will setup from my older phone and see if that works.

Same issues here for my series 5. I think mine has to do with the weather complication eating up the battery. didnt have this issue on watchOS 9 though

I got the Apple Watch 8 in August, I have consistently gotten 2 days worth of battery out of it and I do not use music on it. The watch wanted me to do the update this morning. I pulled my watch off the charger around 11am and got the 10% warning around 3pm, it had a full charge when I took it off and I did not play on my watch, no music, just went to my son’s soccer practice and to Walmart to get a cake, I have the iPhone 15 and I was hardly on it during that time either. Wish I hadn’t updated and clear checked for warnings first. My husband also has an 8, had not updated, and has no issues with battery life. L

I have 10.1 on my Ultra and my battery doesn't even last 12 hours. This is a serious issue.

Yup. As soon as I updated. I don't stream music like that, so doesn't effect my watch at all, yet my battery is dying in less than 6-7 hours after being fully charged. I did a hard reset on my watch and phone, seemed to work for about a day or two and then right back to dying fast. 🤷‍♀️

I tried everything on my watch 6 and nothing worked. Tried unpairing, podcast fix, etc. Was having to charge 4 times in a day until I downloaded the beta 10.2 update. Seems to be working good again.

This started happened to me soon as I updated to 10.1 for my series 6 and realized my watch drained too quick from 100% to 60% in an hour and didn’t make it last all day like usual and died after 2hours

on your iPhone → apple watch app → General → Background App Refresh → toggle off everything you dont use.
Back to main app → scroll down to podcast → Up Next → Off
Restart watch.
I have been an Apple customer since 10 years now. Every fkn time they launch updates it is a pain in the ass, forcing you to buy new devices. I love the technology and keep all my devices in sync, but I hate them as people.
