Amy Cooper, the white woman who was seen on camera calling 911 and falsely accusing Chris Cooper, an African-American man, of threatening her in Central Park, is now facing charges. CBS2's Jenna DeAngelis reports.

Good. Shine the light of justice on this woman's actions.
Whatever happens, whether the courts say she should be incarcerated, or not, it's good that there is plenty of discourse about why this was wrong. Even if she's not jailed, it's a good exercise.
I'd heard Chris Cooper say that he personally didn't feel she should have been fired from her job (or presumably charged criminally). But she still committed an overt act against the People by trying to use the police as her enforcers, and she should answer for it.
This situation is also a commentary about our general perception of the police... That anybody could feel that a white woman simply accusing a black man of violence would have the police charge in, guns blazing, and dispatch the man with extreme prejudice, is frightening. The implication of this is yet another scary component of this revolting situation.
It's sad that our general perception is the police is "Oh, $#!+", instead of, "awesome, the cops still sort this out". Even as a white man, I don't completely trust that every interaction with a cop will go the way it should. I've had enough BS traffic tickets, and known others who have been falsely accused of far worse. It's ridiculous to think that all cops are good and do their jobs with complete integrity. For people of color, and black men in particular, the odds of getting a horrible outcome are horribly high.

I hope LE take these perceptions to heart and actively work to turn these around by serving more completely with integrity. It's great that many cops do... And those great cops need to tear down that Blue Wall to restore integrity to the whole system. It's in the interest of every great cop to root out the horrible cops that drag them all down. #Courage
