Fighting Anesthesia: What to Expect

Fighting Anastasia never results in a win for the patient! human beings simply cannot prevent the unconsciousness of anesthesia, no matter how hard they try. However, the anxiety from trying to fight the anesthesia may cause complications, such as requiring more anesthesia, or waking up with more stress and fragility.

I was put under for an endoscopy. They asked if I was going to fight it. I said- ‘Hell no. I never get naps during the day. Knock me the hell out’😂😂

I just fell asleep because i was tired in the first place, fell asleep after like 5 seconds and the warmth you feel before gping under feels so good

I had gas at the dentist when I was a teenager. Had a massive excitement phase as the anesthetic started working. Apparently kicked two nurses, both my shoes came off, I needed holding down, and was hanging half out the chair by the time I went limp.

I woke up during a mouth surgery and one of the nurses said “Oh shit she’s awake!”😂

How could I. I don't even remember getting anesthesia. I never even saw the OR. I read in my patient portal that I was infused with 16 different medications during my surgery. I am surprised I survived all that considering the fact I never had surgery before in my life. Since I don't know if anything bad or inappropriate happened to me in the OR. I made a vow to never have surgery again as long as I live and that's final.

I never fight it. I love it! MJ couldn't have gone a better way. Actually, anyone who passes while in surgery are the lucky ones.
I always ask to let me know before they inject me. They tell me when, and I say "goodnight" and that's it! I'm out like a light!

This was how my doctor's attitude was while I was having an anxiety attack about anesthesia lmao you can fight it, but you won't win and won't even remember lol

The 3 times i went under 2 times for dental work and 1 time for shoulder surgery i am 21 and my grama was in the room for both dental surgerys but first time i didnt fight it and was actually very bad the rest of day and most of the next day when i fought it i actually was alot more aware and my should surgery was actually 2 hours long then my dental work im 21 but do love way it feels most peaceful sleep ever

When I went under, I told the nurse that I could resist the anaesthesia. She said "Oh yeah???? Watch this!!!!" Ten seconds later, I was at home. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nah... not in my case! I've had regular ablations on my esophagus for 2 years. It's just IV anesthetic, but wow, 50 mg of IV Benadryl hits a lot harder than tablets! Plus some propofol, Versed and a couple other things. I know all the players in the room now and we're chatting away. Sometimes I just see how long I can stay awake...just as a game. I'm not uptight at all. Last time I had General Anesthesia the nurse was training someone and told her to press the mask harder over my face. She pushed so hard she was actually making it harder to breathe! I thought, "oh well, I'll be asleep in 2 seconds anyway, I'm not going to complain! lol

I don't get a chance to fight it once that green mask on my face i am asleep and wake up to asking how it went lol
