Does it have emotional effects? After being sedated to sleep for colonoscopy, I woke up depressed and angry. Angry at the doctor and nurse anesthetist for making me sleep, angry at myself for consenting to the sedation. On the third day I began to feel more normal. This was NOT for life-saving surgery.
I DO understand that many people would prefer to be asleep for this. Not I.

I got one endoscope with sedation with fentanyl and a benzo. I also had a different one with propofol. I much prefer the propofol because it goes away quick! After the sedation one I was messed up all day and felt ill.

Wait they could have sedated me? I'v had stents awake twice... 1st one wasn't so bad but the 2nd one hit like a bus when they inflated that stent out... apparently at a couple of times the pressure on your car tyre...

If the procedure isn't painful, they why is sedation needed? I had a doctor that wanted to sedate me to remove a cyst from my toe. Told me it was required by the surgery center. I checked - it wasn't required and I had the surgery instead with a local block.

I need to do an mri scan but i cant im claustrophobic and my doctor recommended sedation how does it feel under sedation can i feel the same way i feel when i see the mri machine cause when i see it it feels like my heart will drop
