Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of ZEEKR X 2024 - Best in Class 2024 - Small SUV | Pure Electric

Update January 2025: Euro NCAP awarded the 2024 Best in Class Small SUV | Pure Electric to ZEEKR X.

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:

▶ a frontal impact test where 50% of the width of the car strikes an oncoming deformable barrier, travelling at 50 km/h
▶ a frontal impact test where the car impacts a full-width rigid barrier
▶ a side impact test where a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
▶ a pole test where the car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
▶ a whiplash test performed on a sled.

A series of pedestrian tests are also conducted with different impactors: adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form. As well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests. In 2023, a test scenario for Cyclist Dooring Prevention was introduced.

Active safety is rated based on the performance of the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking, car-to-car, and car-to-motorcycle scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders, fatigue, distraction, and impairment), lane support, and speed assistance technologies.

Even german cars pass euroncap tests... which are modified volvo standard from 1994 year. not a big deal.

Most manufacturers have already adapted to these tests. And these tests no longer reveal anything. In reality, cars with the same high rating behave very differently.
