Just wanted to say I appreciate the English voice choice for exactly the reasons you stated. I know people have strong opinions of dubs, but it's so much easier to casually watch with English audio. I agree that the translation quality may go down a smidge, but it lets me look away to address something without having to rewind all the time.

2 things, neither really spoiler-y.

1: I do agree, japanese VAs tend to do a better job, putting more soul into it, but in this game, I honestly think the English VAs did an absolutely astounding job. One of my favorite examples is Ryuji's yell. "Stop looking down on me with that stupid smile on your face!" It's delivered so well, it really stands out, imho.

2: The whole 'ripping off the mask' thing is symbolic. They're ripping off the mask that hides who they really are, allowing their 'true selves' to show. By accepting the side of them that wishes for justice, by shedding the mask they wear and allowing their vengeful, rebellious side out, they gain the power to fight and push past adversity. c: It's a -really- neat idea, imho. Up there with the motif of Persona 4, which was "Accepting even the bad sides of yourself."

Had originally just kinda stopped watching this playthrough after the Hawaii trip, but decided to finally finish it.

Just recently started the game myself and surprisingly REALLY enjoyed it, so now I hope I'll get some extra entertainment out of it all. Certainly need something to run in the background while I grind confidants.

Ok, now this is something I did not expect to see, Lobos playing a jrpg like Persona? That's neat, good to see you branch out, there are some masterpieces in terms of JRPG series out there, Persona is certainly in top 10 of them, probably even top 5

Just gonna put this out there... a playthrough of P5 with Lobos voicing all the unvoiced character lines and npc´s, like the FF series, would probably be the most amazing playthrough of this game anyone could possibly stream/upload. :)
