If it was full frame, it would be the BLOAT!

Yes it is. That's why I use it for 80% of my work

I've personally used the 17-70 2.8 for some portraiture work myself on my Fuji! And I can attest that the lens can provide some great bokeh. But the fact that the blur only comes out around the 50-70mm length kind of puts you in a bind, in my opinion...
The VC is nice for bodies thay don't have it, and the weather sealing is great for peace of mind out in the open, but it's still way too big for me to bring out on the daily, which stops me from shooting with it more.
The Sigma 18-50 gets you most of the way there to the 17-70, and comes in a smaller package and (slightly) sharper optics for 200 dollars less. I'd get that if you don't need to do portraiture on the long end, and don't intend to get a specific portrait lens with it.
Otherwise, it's a great lens; if you don't mind the bulk!

I bought one second hand and it had dust in it. I don't know the conditions it was used under with it's previous owner, but that's not so reassuring of the weather resistance. suitable for me with the dust, hasn't got much worse.

This or the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 both seem like incredible kit lens replacements. I went with the Tamron because of the stabilization and extra focal range. I'm willing to pay the extra cost and work with the extra weight for a lens that's more or less gonna live on my camera, because so flexible and high quality.

I have had it for 8 months now and I truly love it! So sharp! On par with a prime lens...

Recently found ur channel and my love for photography awakened. Been a hobbyist photographer for a while. Things have gotten pretty stagnant after my wedding and moving to different places. Watching your videos have awakened the photographer in me!!! Thanks ❤

I went for the Sigma 18-50. Smaller and sharper. But this Tamron is an awesome choice too.

I just wish tamron would switch to internal zoom instead of external zoom, the dust issues I've been having with my 28-75 are irritating

It’s great, I paired it with the 70-170 also 2.8 all the way thru

Make sense, it's a 27-112 mm fullframe equivalent, but because of the extra distance, you'll probable get less Boca then a full frame, so more like F4. So predy much a 24-105mm F4 for APS-C

I tried a Fujifilm x copy and maybe it was a bad one but i didnt like the drop off from the sharp area to the bokeh on the wide end wideopen. It also had a weird long blackout when quickly zooming. So i wished it was the perfect lens, because is the focal range is awesome, but for my event work it didnt completely do the job.

Did anyone of you try the tamron on a fuji camera with 40mp sensor? Does it exploit the potential to the maximum of the 40mp?

Thanks for your video. I'm seriously considering buying my first camera and this lens because I need to record videos of amateur soccer games held at night while I'm standing by the side of the field. I do not need to frame the face of the players or something so close. I just need to frame the scene of the players with the ball and the players around it. So I need some zoom and I understand this 70mm are equivalent to 105mm full frame that I we consider 50mm kind of regular human eye, this lens will give me like 2x zoom? Constant f2 8 is also key for the low light. How can I "test" these ideas before buying this equipment that is not cheap and I only needed for a game a week? Thanks for any insight.

Yeah this is sweet!
I'm planning to get the A6700 instead of the FX30 and this Tamron 17-70 would be great because I'm not quite interested in the 18-135 lens.
