It’s so helpful to have a monitor like the Atomos Ninja when shooting with an anamorphic lens because you can just adjust the aspect ratio right on the display.

I wouldn't call them disadvantages. The Weirdness of an anamorphic lens: the distortion, the vignetting, the flaring is actually why people desire them. And most of this fun stuff happens on the edges of the lens. Not in the middle.

The footage from the Anamorphic lens reminds me of the XPAN mode from those old Hasselblad days. Its kind of the same wide aspect ratio.
