I was in SF decades ago and I am very impressed how ALL the current training and classes have evolved and grown.

I was stationed at Ft. Lewis in Washington State back in the day where the 1st Special Forces Group is located. I ran across a few SF soldiers, and they never bragged about being a Green Beret because they didn't have to.

That calm confidence is something rarely captured in fictional portrayals of SF operators. They are often portrayed as cocky and macho (ie insecure) in tv and movies, when the real guys are the opposite: humble, down-to-earth, unassuming.

As a Floridian I got the shivers just seeing those guys jump in that water!

One of my good friends from college (uni) was former Army SF. He was one of the most kind-hearted, calm, and "real" people I have ever met. It is hard to describe him as anything other than just "solid" (or "squared away" as I have seen said in some of your videos). Not brash or loud, but confident in how he carried himself and spoke. I spent so many hours in the library studying with this guy so there are too many stories to count.

We both ended up in different medical schools but we keep in touch and it was interesting how you quickly picked up on the demeanor of the men in the video and described something I have seen first hand. Another great video!

Ryan, I live about 70 miles north of Grayling Michigan where NG/AR training center is located. It's an enormous reservation, on the roads surrounding the center you see "Warning Tank Crossing" signs. Grayling is big enough to allow for artillery and tank main gun training. As I said I'm farther north in Petoskey, and we see helicopter formations flying over, especially during the summer. But -25 F is not unusual.

I like you channel and I have heard from soldier that served with Royal Marines that you guys
were squared away soldiers. I have not heard anyone say anything negative about your soldiers. Thanks for your service.

I had several friends in Ranger Battalion that went on to SF and they would tell me about their training pipeline (especially Robin Sage) and it’s incredible just how well trained those guys were.

The upper Midwest, Wisconsin, Minnesota, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the New England states can have some severe winter weather . Routinely drops below 0 (Fahrenheit). Lots of deep forests, lakes and cold clear rivers . Looks like Sweden and Norway . Love your channel, I’m a former U.S. Marine . The Brit’s are out best ally . I did a little cold weather training in Colorado about 9, 000 feet up near Leadville. Several feet of snow and 🥶. Good times, I loved it .

My uncle was a 6'8 Army Ranger who became a Green Beret. Served in Vietnam before anyone had ever heard of it. Served 4 tours. Got shot 8 times at once in an ambush that killed his whole team. He spent a year at Ft. Sam Houston recovering only to die about 8yrs later in a VA hospital. They said he drank himself to death. 😢 15:05

Only found the channel a few weeks ago. Live breathed and trained for months working my way through the pipeline but unfortunately couldn’t hack it. Even as a trainee we had some quality gear compared to other active units on base. Just like the song I believe 2-3 of the 100 we started with made it all the way through. Most intense training environments that I was ever put through. Real high speed. True quiet professionals.

I did time in the Yukon. Never got as far north as Alaska out west. Went to arctic bay in Nunavut. 300 miles inside arctic circle. That's a special kind of cold.
