I had a therapist once tell me to “treat myself how I would treat my very best friend”. Showing yourself some kindness when you’re feeling burnt out helps so much. Give yourself some grace & some rest if you can make the time <3

I’m so burnt out just being myself. I can’t believe how my life has turned out. I will take responsibility for that, but not how it all started. BPD is ruining me and I’m so afraid at this moment I will or already am falling back into old maladaptive ways. Thank you Dr. Daniel Fox for this in advance, I will be watching and listening.

Honestly, I always feel burnt out but it's slowly gotten better over the years. It's a slow process and one change doesn't fix it all. I no longer accept or volunteer for projects I know I don't have the time for. I over estimate how long a task or project will take me to give myself more than enough time, in case an issue comes up. There is nothing worse than being on a time crunch and under pressure when you're already burnt out. I always force at least an hour a day to myself. I may just sit and read, take a nap or catch up on world news but I make sure I at least take an hour a day to myself to do something I enjoy. I know it's not easy or doable for every one to make time for themselves but it makes a world of difference so if it's possible, definitely give it a try. That's just my personal opinion.

This video made me realize I am burnt out. I’ve been falling back into the old habits and been short towards people I love. I know I need to take a break and fill up my tank but it’s actually getting to that point.

I wish it would be that easy. I'm autistic, so maintaining my 'mask' requires so much energy that I'm in constant burnout and at this point I don't think there is anything I can do to stop it.

Amazing description.
Focus on eating and sleeping at night.
Make everything as easy as possible for yourself.
Be realistic. After eat sleep rest washing and other necessities, it is important to conserve and recoup energy.
Concentrate on self compassion and acceptance.

This video is so timely. I liked how you described how to address burn-out. You mentioned mental health first. I find it easier to focus on the physical first. Being aware of my physical needs and addressing those needs in part starts to help the mental. And I would like to add understanding and respecting our own boundaries!! A lot of my burn out is because I have allowed way to many boundaries to be overlooked. Wishing Dr Fox and everyone a peaceful holiday season.

I work in healthcare as a hospice nurse. I cut back to four days a week, yet I have the same caseload that the five-dayers have. I end up working into my evenings to get charting done and other case management done. I have absolutely no control over my caseload and, yes, I talked to the schedulers about my caseload. They don't care. They only care about keeping the census high which means high caseloads. I know I'm burnt out because I just don't care about my work as much as I used to. I get irritated with things that didn't use to bother me. I can't get all the work done that needs done. Tomorrow, I'm asking my psychiatrist for an FMLA. (I have depression, but this isn't depression. It's different.) It's sad that workers need to take time off because of burnout caused by being expected to take on heavy loads of work. I feel sorry for the other nurses because they will have to cover my patients. But I have to take care of myself.

The past year has been very trying. I was diagnosed with depression and grief issues. But I believe burn out was the main thing. I'm in the process of reevaluating what's really important to me. Healing from a lifetime of narcissistic abuse and going into the career I always wanted to but didn't. I've slowed things down and I'm trying to not let people push me into doing things I don't want to do. Plus I'm playing with my grandchildren more often. That really helps LOL

I was ridiculously burnt out until about a week and a bit ago. 4-6 weeks of burn out and I kept having to make excuses at work because I haven’t disclosed this to my employer, for obvious anxieties surrounding discrimination and judgement! 😰

I was a child care worker for over 19 years, I now can’t step into a child care facility without feeling apprehensive, I cry, shake and so many more physical symptoms. They come on suddenly. I took it as I was Very burnt out. Very. To the line of ptsd . I had to quit. I tried going back three times. The last job I left recently I promised myself I wouldn’t go back, I instantly felt better.

Thank you for making this video ❤️ this is my 2022 so much so that I'm almost terrified of going into 2023 bc I don't want to repeat the massive stress and mental health struggles I've had this year!!!! Trying to plan new boundary lines and do my best to walk into this next season without any looming obligations, commissions/side hustle, or anything outside the scope of basic day to day survival....

This is one of the most insightful videos that I've watched so far while trying to figure out what's wrong with me. Definitely feels like burn out but you hit home when you said it might just come back if it's something in my environment that keeps burning me out. Definitely went from mental, to physical, to now that painful combination of both that you mentioned.
I feel less lonely knowing someone out there recognizes what this is like. I went from superstar worker to about-to-be-fired so I'm starting to seek help.

Thank you.

I’m so burnt out. I just cried thru the video, only heard some points. And whenever I get this way, which has been ongoing for 3 years without a break… that is, the burn out…I think about the help I need. Which is why I started crying and feeling the burnout more. I have never had such a hard time trying to find 1.) a specialist in BPD 2.) medication that works for me 3.) who I have to call, to find a specialist that accepts my health insurance, that isn’t going to make me wait a whole nother month for my first appointment. I’m dying. My psychiatrist has no bed side manner. I can just get the edge off with gabapentin sometimes, and that’s what we’ve stuck with for a while-since the rest don’t want to work. Life is so hard

I've been' stable' ish since my late 20s. Made it to executive leadership in a hospital with just an associates degree, bought a home, bought my dream car, had raised gardens and thought I was well. Then COVID. As a nurse with a lot of empathy I was worried! I had to quit watching news, I was working day and up nights researching. I managed OR and ER.... raised 3 boys with one more graduating soon. I lost my entire ability to regulate.

That was 3 years ago. My life has spiraled. I'm lost and so tired. Can't hold a job can't do anything and losin it all. I watch these videos because I just cant
