Trauma can often leave us feeling fragmented, in fear, immobilized, hyper-vigilant, and filled with internal chaos. In this video I introduce two self-holding/self-soothing exercises that can offer relief, containment and settling of the nervous system. We explore holding and sensing into our brainstem area and then our kidneys/adrenal glands.

I found you because i realize somatic exercises are so helpful for PTSD, grief, chronic pain... It really helps me regulate my nervous you so much!!! I realize just how disconnected from my body i have husband passed, i was regularly doing yoga and stretching and somatic exercises....I got away from some modalities which helped. It feels so good to get to feeling better again, emotionally, physically, spiritually.

I did the first self hold on my brain stem & neck I sensed some anxious sensation in my solar plexus. I often experience pressury pain in my neck, shoulders & in the brain stem area.

I cry a lot, but I’ve had so much chronic stress, I feel really numb but scared and angry. Sometimes crying can stimulate my nervous system but I want to cry but cant. Is this weird. Thank you for these videos ❤

One time, this exercise brought me to tears. But this time, my body start to react weird. When I put my hand in the back of the neck, I started to feel a bit dizzy. But I keep hold it until it subside and I feel my hand as the anchor and supporting the neck. The similar thing happen when I hold my back (the adrenal gland), I started to get a bit nauseous. Keep holding it until its subside. I wonder why this is happen?

Thanks so much for this! I did find it settling. I just wanted to ask, is there any ideal time to use this? Should I make it a habit of doing it daily? Can using it too often be too much?
