Something that got really overlooked is just how insanely good stagbreaker is in the black forest and swamps... literally kills enemies through obstructions in dungeons and makes leeches, oozes, and skellies trivial.

Nice list overall with one critique, the atgeir should be attained way before the plains, as soon as you enter the Bronze Age really. It’s capable of stunlocking most everything including trolls. It can out dps most other weapons as well. Bronze, iron, black iron, all relevant.

The Stagbreaker is God-tier for crypts in the Swamp and the Black Forest.

Ive been doing a coop world of valheim with a friend for a while now, and ever since ive gotten my hands on the iron mace it has never left my side, we've only just gotten to the plains but its still serving me well

The bow I find is super accurate, don’t know what’s inconsistent about it. I can sneak attack deer at range without them realizing I was ever there.

Even though a lot of weapons can be good from meadows to B.F. - I'f HIGHLY recommend a club and upgrade to bronze mace before the swamp. Though trolls are resistant to blunt, all other mobs in the BF take normal damage and all the skeletons in the burial mounds are weak to it. But I recommend it so you can get your skill up, so by time the swamp comes around, you are more than ready on it because, like you said, it's the first REAL challenge on a new world and character

Interesting video, pretty solid choices, though I would have also stressed having a second weapon as a backup. I never go anywhere without a bow, because even if its damage isn't great, it's provides range utility to deal with dicey scenarios and avoiding crowd aggro. Most biomes have monsters that have different weaknesses, so sometimes carrying a second weapon that addresses the less common weakness, especially if it is a significant risk, can be very hepful. Good vid!

The Flesh Rippers are also pretty under rated. If you can raise your fisting level high enough (either throughout the game or by punching your friend in duel mode) it will absolutely shred through plains mobs. I love kicking a berserker and seeing him get stunnned for easy follow up punches. Sadly mistlands is a lil too mountainy and fighting dwarves can be a bit tricky. Still fun weapon.

You can achieve better results in mistlands with Krom, although it's a bit tricky...
If your sword lvl is high (90-100) then the cost of 1 swing for Krom becomes 13 while mistwalker has 11, for 2 additional stamina points you get a stronger attack that staggers the enemy very often (but it lacks frost damage tho).
By using the special attack you can deal even more damage than mistwalker, since Krom has around 500 dmg with high sword skill, this actually makes it possible to kill queen in less than 3 minutes.
Parrying an enemy and then using a special attack is one of the best methods to kill seekers in 1 hit, also if you encounter a 2 star with Krom and you have no bonemass you can simply create a small distance between you and the seeker, use special attack that has a big reach in front of you, dealing massive damage and keeping the 2 star away from you.

For now Krom remains as my favourite weapon in the game.

hello, I completely agree! In mistlands, the freezing sword is really the best weapon in melee combat, but the best option according to me is to have Arbalest ready with Carapace arrows which are cheap to make and strong enough. It's very effective to shoot with the arbalest even if it comes to melee combat. After your shot you should switch to the ice sword and this combination seemed the most effective for me :)

Porcupine is probably my favourite weapon. With combined blunt/pierce damage, it's a very good weapon against most mobs, has a bigger range than a dagger, and a decent attack speed too. The weapon also works pretty well against stone golems, so no need to try and damage them with a pickaxe. And combined with a black metal tower shield, you are an absolute tank...

I would argue that the Himmen Afl is the best weapon for the mistlands, as it is an Atgeir. It has a large sweeping attack for Croud Control, and does Lightning to counteract the Seeker's damage resistance. However, I would recommend bringing the Mistwalker along side the Himmen Afl for 1 on 1 combat or small spaces.

Generally, on a solo playthrough - I'd recommend going for a club and upgrading it fully, and then switching to the iron mace in the swamp, or the bronze mace if you struggle on dodge timing

A wooden shield + troll armor works great until you hit the swamp - with which you should build a banded shield, and an iron atgeir, along with the root chest piece, and augment with iron pieces if you can afford it. - This singular piece of armor is extremely valuable even through the Mistlands. It stops draugr archers from being a problem, reduces most of the damage from wolves and drakes, and since Moder is mostly a ranged fight, will give you bonus damage with your bow. The iron atgeir will stagger everything up to the mistlands.

At this point I've also usually been able to acquire the abyssal harpoon. This spear is more valuable than the abyssal razor - which is an overall great weapon, but due to the variance in leviathan spawns, is unreliable to get. This will allow you to get scales and build the serpent shield. There is no parry mechanic, but it's 50% pierce damage reduction is useful later on in the plains as well as the mistlands.

In the mountains - your bow will get a ton of use, but I don't really recommend the draugr fang. The Huntsman bow has 50% less aggro range when it hits - so it's much better for pulling a singular lox or other things once you hit, outside of this - you should build Frostner as soon as possible, as well as the wolf cape. Outside of this - skip the biome for the most part once you get onion seeds, enough silver to craft frostner, and find 3 dragon eggs - moder isn't a difficult fight, and half the times I've fought him, he's gotten stuck on terrain and couldn't do damage unless you ran up to him and face tanked his melees. Avoid the fist weapons, silver armor, and fenris armor, as the damage is lackluster, movement speed bonuses are not worth the armor tradeoff, and the silver armor will be very quickly replaced as soon as you get to the plains. (Seriously, probably 15 minutes in it'll be replaced)

For the plains - the iron atgeir fully upgraded will stagger fuling with its special attack - same as a black metal atgeir. You should still be wearing your root chest piece, but at this point you want to upgrade your other armor to padded and fully upgrade it to level 4 - it'll have the same armor qualities as the Carapace armor. Frostner and the iron atgeir are your best friends here, smashing through fuling which are largely the biggest threat in this biome, especially as you tackle villages to acquire black metal and/or flax/barley.

For mistlands - After trying every weapon and fighting 1 and 2 star seeker soldiers with them, the sword is useless unless you wish to swap your wisplight for meginjord, which will be rare since there is no new metal ore in the mistlands, and instead you will only be using it to transport copious amounts of black marble to create a totally original black marble wizard tower with which to craft your magic items. However, the Skol and Hati are ridiculously powerful - the attack speed alone warrants their use, but the DPS is unmatched. Their biggest problem is the inability to stagger anything, requiring you to really understand the dodge mechanics and invulnerability frames.

For my personal use - I use the himminafl in open areas, and in the crypts I use the demolisher, with the Krom for single target fights. The Mistweaver is a slightly higher damage output than Frostner, but it's really miniscule for the amount of effort you must go through to build it. I walked into the Mistlands with a black metal atgeir, black metal sword, and a black metal shield, wearing full padded. I died significantly more than my friend who ran in with root armor and a serpent shield. I now wear full padded with the root harnesk and serpent shield, utilizing the mistweaver with it, but mostly running around with Krom and just dodging major attacks or staggering with parry.

Great vid! Personally I always take a shield because the parry bonus is quite frankly ridiculous. This combined with the frostner can trivialise a lot of enemies. Bows are also OP so I carry fire and frost arrows everywhere.

Frost arrows also make leviathan much less of a threat.

Best weapon for every biome is the bow. You can learn the drop of any bow and get substantial sneak attack bonuses from afar. You can follow up those shots before the enemy even gets close to you.

from the future I will have to add on that the mistwalker lets you transition nicely into the ashlands due to its spirit damage and cold slows. I even crafted the new sword for the region fought with it for a bit and then went back to a now level 4 mistwalker.

Congrats man you've taken the place of Kysen and firespark who I watched when Valheim first came out. I'm finally revisiting this amazing game now, almost ready to fight Moder. Nice videos

Flame staff can be solely used in the mistland with no other weapon needed..the later recipes for magic recharge are sufficent, and it slays on the plains as well.Carapace armour makes up for shortages with health and stamia when using staff.Frost staff depletes magic(itar) too quickly where as flame staff has area damage..superior in crypts for multiple enemies.
