That verse is from James, but it's like 1 John 3:18 states, "Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth". This verse emphasizes that love should be shown through actions, not just words. So, if we see someone without clothes, food or in need of assistance, and WE KNOW WE CAN HELP THEM but choose to only give encouraging words instead, then that's not good in God's eyes. We must love with action AND in truth, because that's part of loving thy neighbor as we love thyselves, which is God's second most important commandment in thr Bible...because you can't love Him without loving His people, His creations.

This lesson is something that a lady I used to know never understood. She interpreted wait on the Lord as to sit on her duff then whine about how awful her life was without trying to change it. She never worked, but somehow always found money to have her hair done, her nails done, a full pack of cigarettes and booze in the fridge. She didn't understand that wait on the Lord meant to serve the Lord and to be proactive
