Thank you Toyota for offering off road vehicles. Don’t ever become like Honda. That’s the reason I own a Toyota.

Glad you did this review. I have really been looking at a 2008- 2010 sequoia platinum 4x4 since a land cruiser 200 series is out of my price range. They were still rated at almost 10, 000lb towing capacity like the tundra before they switched to the j2807 standard. Most people don't know the tundra and sequioa share almost 95% of the parts with the land cruiser. Most notable changes are the independent rear suspension that gives that 3rd row more room then the Landcruiser and even the suburban. In fact wit the second and 3rd row folded it has the same luggage capacity as a suburban while being a foot shorter. Actually learned that from another episode you guys had on the sequioa

Sure would be nice if Toyota offered the 4 Runner with an optional 5.7/V8.

Love my Sequoia, took it off roading a few times even. It's more for long trips and able to get thru most conditions.

The interior space is amazing compared to the competition. Of course I'd rather have a land cruiser but I have a Wrangler for off-roading.

The 4Runner just has its charm to it. It’s just got that old school durable feel and look to it. Imo the trd Pro 4runner is the best looking suv on the market hands down. I just love the design of it. I wouldn’t trade mine for the world. Never had a single problem with it.

300, 000+ miles getting 14MPG, or 17MPG, combined is a whole lot cheaper that 150, 000 miles and major engine work, or component failure, any day.

I like how the word TOYOTA is on the grille not just the emblem..

That Sequoia is such a beast! I've owned two. Spacious when it comes to the kiddos. 4runner is clearly more capable off -road. Good review!

Though the 4Runner has the older 4.0L engine and the 5 speed, both of those have been proving reliability for years.

Off-roading, you want reliability. Power is nice, but making sure you don’t break down is even better.

Additionally, 4Runners have a much better selection in the aftermarket upgrades

Finally, some love for the Sequoia. Love love my 2016, hauls my non slide 30' Jayco no problem. Hauls anything no problem. Roomy for all. Sounds great, great power, drive it till wheels fall off, it will last, not a lot of tech, believe it or not, a large segment of the population doesn't want it. Go Sequoia go!

The 4Runner is so cool. And that military green makes it even cooler.

There you go again, listing HP without listing Torque while you are talking about offroading. How often does all that Horsepower come into play when you are on an offroad course such as you are with these two?

Don’t get me wrong, I love and own a Toyota (92 Delux with the 4 banger. Truly bulletproof.) and a 2016 Lexus GX 460 (Fancy Toyota 😁) but Toyota needs to get off their laurels and update their truck and SUV line up. The engines need to be made more efficient and they need more gears in their transmissions. They should also add some diesels to the lineup or their market share will continue to slip.

The issue with the sequoia is that it's not bringing too much extra with the TRD Pro package. It looks cool, but that's a lot of money... I do like that V8! Pretty much indestructible!

Only, only has 5 gears? 5 gears is plenty, lol. I don't quite understand your guys fascination with more gears. As long as it has an overdrive gear for driving on the freeway, that's all I want.

Have had 6 Tacoma’s, 2 4runners, 1 land cruiser FJ 40, 3 tundras and 1sequoia . If I had to pick one for 4 wheeling over landing and just the most versatility no question it would be the Sequoia. Ya it’s big but not any bigger then the Tundra, 5.7 381hp, independent rear suspension great ride both on and off road carrying capacity Huge, gas mileage sucks 14 to 15 MPG tow s boats, 28 ft travel trailer like there not even there . You can buy them all day long for under 50K and put a 4” lift on . My experience with the 4Runner is when you have it loaded for over landing it’s gas mileage goes to 15 to 16 MPG . Does not tow 3, 500lbs well, not enough power . Before I got another 4Runner my second choice would be a tundra with a camper shell very capable . For just 4 wheeling the 4Runner is the ticket but in my opinion lacks in the rest of the categories . The nice thing about my experience with Toyota’s is you can run them for 250, 000 miles easy as long as you take care of them .

Love the look of the 4 Runner, it looks like a lifted EVO-X. It looks like the Evo ate a baby land cruiser, lol

A commercial in the middle of the video? Look, I get it, you guys need ads to make these videos, and having one at the beginning I can live with. But cutting them in half is Facebook level annoying. I'll wait to watch this on PC where I can block both of them.
