My father's 2013 Sequoia just hit 250k miles
Normal Oil changes and did brakes/rotors once
The car has bulletproof reliability

This SUV is bulletproof. Take care of it and it will go over a million miles.

I just picked one of these up last month. Love it. The mpg gets lots of knocks but right now I’m averaging .6 mpg less than the 16 mpg I was getting on my 2017 Titan. For an “old” engine i was expecting worse. This vehicle is fun to drive. Drives like a car, not like a truck. And with a family of 5 this has plenty of room. You can’t go wrong. If I had to ask for one thing to improve I’d say put in a 9 or ten speed transmission to improve mpg and that’s it. Don’t touch the 5.7L engine!

Toyota really needs to offer that V8 in a limited edition 4Runner.

this car’s “outdatedness” is really underrated. it will outlast any over-engineered piece of junk “modern” vehicle out there.

My 2002 Sequoia just hit 310, 000 miles. Changing the oil is all I’ve ever done to her. Car is built to slap for days.

Next SUV is either a 4Runner or Sequoia. My Suburban and Expedition have had so many problems. Enough with Ford and GM.

Sequoias are bullet proof. My dad just bought a brand new 4Runner so I’m taking over his 04 sequoia. 275, 000 miles and EVERYTHING besides tires and brakes are still factory. Not a single problem. I’m going to tackle the dreaded water pump and timing belt just to get the preventative stuff going as well put some nice spark plugs in it as those are still factory as well.. My goal is, my son (7 years old) will be driving this when he first gets his license. Confident I can hit 600, 00 miles no problems

Simply outstanding engineering and reliability. I love my 2016, I added drilled/slotted rotors, ceramic pads. Pulls my 32' jayco, no problem. Dont care about mileage, it'll last miles!!!

Yes, 🙂🙂I actually got to work on this baby, I love Sequoia, I lost my wonderful job working on these due to only being a temp and the covid pandemic. Id go back in a heartbeat, love driving these powerful vehicles'.

After I get my use out of my 4Runner, this is what I want to get next. It’s literally a beefed up, more family friendly version of the 4Runner

I have the 2006 Sequoia as my work truck and it's wrapped in my company decals. I keep a 7 foot A frame and 24ft aluminum extension ladder strapped to the top daily. It's my favorite vehicle I've ever owned.
Over a Toyota T-100, Ford lariat, Acura, Nissan Altima. Old school F-150.
I took out the third row seating to build a custom double deck tool storage.
Also have 3-12" Rockford Fosgate P3s and an 8000w amp. Stock Alternator powers it effortlessly.
I change the oil regularly and preventative maintenance regularly.
Overall I'm just saying this SUV is my favorite and a Dream come true would be to have my Nexx Generation Construction company logos all over that super stout looking 2020 Sequoia.
Toyota is just so good at making the most reliable vehicles!!!

If my salary tripled, I'd buy a 2020 Sequoia TRD tomorrow morning.

I heard the TRD Pro Sienna is coming out soon. It’s got cool stickers and red bodykit that makes the driver feel good.

I have an '02 Sequoia Limited. It's basically everything this truck has minus the off-road specific upgrades, parking sensors and power rear seats. Since I replaced the radio with a Nav/BT unit, it feels modern enough. It'll turn 300k miles in 2020.

The 2010-2022 Sequoia is the most underrated SUV ever made. For the price there is no better value for what you buy. Truly the most reliable and powerful for its size V8, tons of excellent room, and reliability out the wazoo. My wife and I bought a 2018 Sequoia Limited 4x4 brand new in 2017 and raised our four kiddos in it. Ironically, my older brother and his family (same size) have a Ford Expedition MAX Ecoboost and he has had several expensive issues happen including the replacement of the turbos at around 145, 000'ish miles. It cost him $5, 500 to replace them. Had a bunch of oil leak issues and had to essentially replace the front end of that truck the year or two prior to the expensive replacement of the turbos. Overall, he told me he's spent $8, 000+ keeping that Expedition on the road.

As for my Sequoia we are up to 121, 000'ish miles already and I have literally spent zero dollars outside of regular maintenance. I am getting ready to replace the shocks and struts because they have warn out which will be expensive, but that's going to be the first big maintenance bill I have done. I'm having the spark plugs done at the same time.

Finally, anyone moaning and groaning about mpg shouldn't be buying vehicles this size. My brothers Expedition MAX ecoboost gets nearly the same mpg my Sequoia gets which is 14 city and about 17-17.5 highway. His is 14-15 city and 18-19 highway. By the way he's told me when it is just him driving he can get 20-21, but once you get the family in there and any kind of load the turbos are always spinning and that Ecoboost drinks fuel.
