Randy Moss reportedly had a 47” standing vertical jump. I can’t even imagine what that would look like.

If you look at the science behind it, part of the reason people bend so low during the runup isnt because its faster or to squat lower before the jump, but because the explosive force behind swinging your back upwards (properly) actually adds a good amount of height into the jump

TL;DR: lower runup = more forward momentum becomes upward momentum

you jump higher while running because the achille's tendon stores energy when it is stretched, you don't actually need to run, a short hop before will do you enough, you just have to "charge" the tendon by imparting force to it then jump immediately after so that energy is used in the jump and isn't dissipated over time

Bro! I’d do anything to have you teach me how to improve my vert! I’ve never been able to really slam a ball before just barely dunk and only for a few short years hang with both hands… I’d love to be able to yam…. At 6’4 if I had a 38” vert I’d be yam timing some dudes.

Throw your knee up whenever your just jumping you’ll get more thrust on your jumps (I know not for a vertical but for normally jumping this helps a lot in sports like soccer)

This is the most casual 42" vertical I've ever seen. Looks like 46 or beyond is well within your range

Try of left leg and right leg as well as both it will give you a better understanding of the balance between your ability to use all of your legs
