At first I was definitely going with the traditional display because you know… OLED. But when I tried it out at the store (mind you i didn’t notice it was the nano texture because I thought it was the standard display because it didn’t look like my idea of a matte display (like paper like), I kept going back to the nano texture for the pencil experience. Hands down it’s what I’m going to get.

I love the nano texture display. I got an 11" and think it's awesome. The reflections from light are great.

I am an artist and I never regret that I got the Nano Texture version. Its just too good, whole new experience and very convenient.

At 7:20 you can see the difference perfectly. The glossy will have a worse direct reflection but a way better sweetspot.

If you move the matte and the glossy under a light, they will both have glare. But if you move the glossy 1 inch to the left, it will have 0 glare. The matte however will have 70% glare still. Then another inch will bring it down to 69% glare and so on. You’ll never have a clear screen with the matte but your glare will never make it unusable.

With glossy, you’ll sometimes have an unusable glare at the worst case scenario but you can get rid of it way easier by just moving it 2 degrees in another direction and have a screen way clearer than the matte will ever give you

Nano 100% the way to go if your outside even 10% of total time with device. Especially if your sharing a screen with someone, nothing worse than just staring at the person next to you via screen reflection, horrible experience if you dont go nano. Nano takes every reflection away and leaves screen beautiful

I got a normal m4 iPad Pro base model but I put a matte screen protector on it, to me it’s the exact same thing, to me at least, you have the option take it off and put a gloss one if it bugs you, all the same drawbacks looks slick but slight rainbow hazing and tbh the screen quality is just better with glossy.

Finally, someone demonstrated the nano texture in direct sunlight. Thanks for the video. I was considering trading my iPad for the nano texture, but after watching the video, I've decided to stick with the standard m4 screen. Thank you you again

It’s kind of ironic that you are advertising an ad blocker.

Thanks for another great review! I went with the glossy 11 in IPad Pro 512gb, New Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil pro. So far I am loving all of it!

From all the videos I came across about nano texture glass, this is by far the best explanations of nano texture glass. Thank you for your time and effort cheers. 🥂

I think OLED is gaining an undeserved mythical status. It looks good, and the underlaying tech is thinner which is hugely beneficial for a tablet/phone, but LCD with advanced backlighting doesn’t really fall short when it comes to color reproduction and seemingly even Sony now thinks that diffusion-filtered Mini-LED might become the future after all, while other high end screen makers like Eizo didn’t really believe in OLED to begin with.

The display is absolutely insane. Only Linus in his review really demonstrates this. He said - it’s literally one of the best displays on Earth, comparable only to reference units costing 10 times as much. It has to be seen to be believed. It’s that good.

And yea. The glossy is the way to go. The extra brightness is enough of a boost for me to be used outdoors, and I’m with your colleague - the nano texture kills the black levels, which is a regressive step, to my mind. It just looks more premium without it, too.

While Lasso does increase Safari performance with ads present, it really does slow down simple sites a bit. A score of 5000 on motion mark with Lasso vs. 6800 without. Other than that it works.

Congrats for amazing video ! I use my ipad 99, 99% in bedroom, i am ipad collector. Always choose the top model, the most expensive. In this case i have a question : Nano or glossy display? The nano has deep blacks or gray? No the price is the problem, the choise is. Previous ipad pro have glossy display and clear screen protector, it looks as new after 6 years. The only “problem” is the reflections, no have large windows, no bright room…but i tired to reflections, to show my face on ipad. Who reccomended for my? Sorry of my english. Thank you

due you need to put on the same background for the outdoor test. Having a rainbow on one and a dark grey on the other completely nullify the test.

Are you still planning to upload a nano texture durability test?

Sounds like glossy with a paper-like screen protector is still the way to go if you use Apple Pencil and value your blacks…?

I agree the panel is superior to almost anything else one thing to note is Apple didn't design the Panel. in house Like their M4 chips for example. They just bought it from LG and Samsung...
Also I appreciate you mentioning the set backs of going for an antiglare coating on your screen.. Ya you don't get as much reflections, BUT you introduce, graininess, sharpness loss, color loss, and loss of black levels.. It's unpopular to say it but since a lot of people like matte coating but it's true..

I was hoping that the iPAD would tie in with something cool that Vision Pro could extend with it. Like a high speed link or way to share the same battery and extend the experience for Vision Pro through a new magsafe something another.
