If you notice the chancellor wanted to watch two things

1 IF count dooku was still fit to be his apprentices
2 If Vader was fit to become his new apprentice.

Gets battered by Dooku twice and almost beaten by Darth Maul.

Chancellor Palpatine... encouraging Anakin Skywalker to kill Count Dooku...and Anakin... having a brief moment of conscience, before going against his training, and obeying the command of Chancellor Palpatine...
That should've given Anakin Skywalker a little clue, as to who, or rather, what, Chancellor Palpatine was, right then and there!
However, Anakin wasn't as perceptive in that moment, as he should've been.
This was the start of his eventual downfall...and, slowly but surely, things only became worse for Anakin Skywalker. The movie shows us that, right around the halfway mark, Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader, a cruel, sadistic, and very vengeful young Sith Lord, with plenty of anger, aggression, and hate, all boiling up within him, and ruining whatever it touched.

At the end, it actually looked like Dooku wanted to tell Anakin something. Almost like he wanted to warn him about Palpatine and his true nature; but Anakin finished him off before he could say anything to him!

I think it’s very telling right here Chancellor for a second reveals his darker side. Anakin who is obviously struggling through dark and light side has a blue and red light saber in his hands. And follows the Sith Lords orders to strike down his apprentice. Basically the initial fall of Anakin and his turning to the dark side and becoming the next Sith

0:55 I love Anakin’s initial saber stance here. He’s not lazy, he’s just so comfortable wielding the blade he doesn’t assume any position. His resting stance itself is his fighting stance. He’s always in fighting stance

Fun fact: This is the first time in the movies (irl, not chronologically) a blue lightsabre beats another color.
To the point where the fandom made it a joke that blue is for losers.

- A New Hope: Vader (red) beats Obi-wan (blue).

- Empire: Vader (red) beats Luke (blue).

- Jedi: Luke (green) beats Vader (red).

- Phantom: Maul (red) beats Qui-Gon (green) and Obi-wan (blue) - Obi-wan turns the tide of battle moments later, but when he lands the killing blow he's holding his master's (green) weapon

- Clones: Dooku (red) beats Anakin (green and blue, note that Anakin lose the green one at some point and when Dooku wins the fight by severing Anakin's arm, Anakin is holding the blue one)

- Sith: REVENGE! FINALLY, VICTORY FOR TEAM BLUE!... also, Anakin vs. Obi-wan maybe, but that's a moot point because both sides are using blue...

Disney, to their credit, did redeem blue sabers later on, what with Rey using a blue one throughout the Sequel Trilogy and Obi-wan using his OG blue saber when fighting Vader in the series, but still...

In real life, even at around age 80, Sir Christopher couldve hacked them in half in real life, he was a pro-level fencer. He taught the other actors to fence on The Three Musketeers (1973)
