Just picked up This TV from Amazon in June of 2024 for $1399 for an 85”. I think the QM8 is great TV especially for the money

Just pulled the trigger on one to replace my C1 (broke during a move when we had it sitting on the floor someone knocked into it) soooo… to find a reasonable priced tv to replace it made me so happy. Picking it up tomorrow and look forward to getting my kill on on Diablo4 all day tomorrow haha.

I just bought this tv off Facebook market place broken. The left side was dark but you could still see the image. Got it for $180. Spent 1 hour testing a d fount the #3 led ribbon cable that plugs into the led driver board was crooked. Plugged in incorrectly from the factory. Unplugged it and reseated ot properly and the leds came back on. Enjoying my new $180 tv. 😂

Quantum - wanted to thank you for the true honesty you provide.
I have been trying to decide between the LG C3 and the TCL QM8. Would the C3 be worth the extra money over the QM8?
I will be using it in a home theater room that is complete light controlled (no windows) and using it for Xbox Series X, PS5, Apple TV 4K viewing and gaming and some 1080p content as well.
Can I get your thoughts?

Sweet! Makes me wonder how the Q7 performs for a few hundred dollars less (at 65 inches). Of course, like you said, I’m waiting to see how Hisense performs as well.

The absence of HSL settings is only a convenience factor because RGB and HSL can be interchanged with a calculator.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm currently rocking the QM8 85" and I was curious what you would say. I haven't had any issues with the LED backlight like you did (knock on wood) and I'm pretty happy so far. I think you gave it a fair assessment.

I'm having a hard time deciding betwen one of these and an OLED. The 85" is currently $1700, the 77" G3 is $2000 more 😢

@Quantum_TV. Can you pleeeease review the 2024 QM851g and the settings for it? I’m a fan and subscriber to your channel and would love to hear your opinion on it. IMO the 2024 has been improved over the 2023 model. Thanks bud.

Hey Quantum... I replayed your U8H videos several times and purchased it 6 weeks ago. I am happy with it for the most part.. it will be my daily driver until my s95b comes in. brightness is not a top selling point for me... I keep my low blue settings and warm image and brightness down as much as possible.. but when u calibrate do you go into the gamma, and or white balance if so I will join your members section and use those settings to get a better image. I played with gamma while watching avatar 2 and the depth improved... Let me know.
