TCL QM8/QM850G First Impressions

I have the 85 QM8 and an LG C1 OLED and I will say that for me the QM8 looks better in a bright room setting with black levels that are near OLED quality. That being said, extremely tough specular highlights like the starry night are still going to result in visible blooming. Outside this sort of blooming torture test I cannot say that any minor blooming makes me regret saving $2500 to get my QM8 over an OLED. I came from a more traditional full array backlit LCD (the Visio Quantum) that used in our bright living room and the QM8 absolutely blows it out of the water. This is going to be a legendary TV for 2023 in terms of value and performance.

First off Quantum, thank you for you content. Your work is seriously underrated. Your review helped me purchase the U7H last year and It’s been spectacular; zero regrets.

I’m looking to upgrade from the 65 U7H to a 75-85”. Considered the U8H until I saw the QM8. Could you do a comparison of the QM8 vs the U8H please? And what are your thoughs of the upcoming U8K?

I know the video is old, I’m getting mine on November 21, 2023 since my Sony tv broke. I hope I can find the really good calibration for it for my PS5 and tv/movies. I play most of my movies from the PS5 console, the automatic video game might be a bad option when playing my movies or tv series on the discs

I have had this TV for a week. The OS Navigation is laggy throughout the TV. In App (YouTube TV for example) is very laggy or even downright locks up when compared to Youtube TV running on Samsung 65 inch Frame TV and on an Old Samsung running Roku Device running Youtube TV App. Have not seen any mention of the OS in any of the reviews to date. Otherwise, for the price, the TV is awesome. Just wanna get to where I am going without the

I got my TCL QM8 and I’m having a really bad time with Jitters, Judders, and motion issues. I keep seeing the picture as if it’s lagging and I see transparent boxes around characters in fast moving environments like action movies or games.

It’s very frustrating. Can you please help me fix this. Can you create a QM8 Video with settings for Movies And General Watching And Games.

I can’t enjoy my TV like this even though I know it’s a great TV
